Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mark Coleman!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Jorge Garcia and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martinez Jr checks a leg kick.
Martinez Jr looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Coleman misses with a wild combination.
Martinez Jr looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Coleman is fending him off so far but Martinez Jr persists. Nope, Coleman circles away and we're back to standing.
Coleman scores with a decent looking hook.


It looks like Ariel Martinez Jr has been cut.
Martinez Jr tries to clinch but Coleman is having none of it.

Coleman lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Coleman drops Martinez Jr with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Martinez Jr looks back up at him and smiles so Coleman waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Coleman has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Coleman really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Martinez Jr. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Coleman shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Martinez Jr's guard.
Coleman wanted to stand there but Martinez Jr had control of the position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Coleman shoots in but no luck this time.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Coleman can do anything to dispel that myth.

Martinez Jr decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

and Martinez Jr holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Coleman wants to get back to striking at distance but Martinez Jr won't allow it.
Martinez Jr keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Coleman's efforts to push away.

Martinez Jr turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Martinez Jr manages to end up in side control.

Martinez Jr is trying to get an arm triangle but Coleman is defending well.
Martinez Jr misses with an attempted head punch from side control.

Coleman tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Despite being in the dominant position, Mark Coleman just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Coleman scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Coleman throws a combination that misses

and Martinez Jr counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Coleman!
Coleman is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Martinez Jr sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

I would just about give that final round to Mark Coleman.
I think Coleman has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
