Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Larry Lamonier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wanderlei Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lamonier comes into the arena with Pantera - Five Minutes Alone blaring out of the sound system. Larry Lamonier has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Larry Lamonier! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Wanderlei Silva! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Leandro Rodrigues and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lamonier dips to his left and cracks Silva with an uppercut! Silva tries to clinch but Lamonier is having none of it. Lamonier tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Silva was well out of range. Poor timing from Lamonier. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Silva. The fight stays on the outside here - Silva looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Silva tries to close the distance and clinch but Lamonier swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Silva tries to clinch up but Lamonier circles away and keeps his distance. Silva scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Lamonier is controlling Silva's position as best he can from this difficult position. Lamonier wants to get back to full guard. Silva missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Silva is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Lamonier defends it well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silva thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Lamonier's head. Lamonier on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Lamonier tries to get out of the position. Silva not landing any meaningful shots this time. Lamonier wants to control but Silva is keeping busy and won't allow it. Lamonier is staying active underneath Silva, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Silva looks to land a combination. Lamonier sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Nice sprawl there from Lamonier as Silva shoots in. Lamonier falls off balance throwing a combination
and Silva counters with a three punch combo that has Lamonier backing up. Lamonier nods at Silva to acknowledge the strikes. Lamonier lands a left and a right that send Silva crashing to the mat, dazed. Lamonier thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Silva is rocked! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. A combination from Silva does no damage. Silva is still on wobbly legs! Can Lamonier finish him? Lamonier is looking for a takedown. Wow, that's a brutal slam - Silva is in big trouble! Lamonier is landing strikes from the mount and this one is all over! The ref jumps in to save a confused looking Silva. Poor guy.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:04 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Slam). Larry Lamonier!
