Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ulysses Pereira! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bob Bitchin! The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Luis Engracia and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bitchin throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Bitchin throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Pereira fails with an attempt to clinch.
Pereira misses with a takedown attempt - Bitchin sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Bitchin lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Bob Bitchin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Pereira takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Pereira misses with a jab, cross combination.
Pereira shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Bitchin napping and manages to drive through into side control!

After a battle for position, Pereira asserts his dominance and retains side control. Pereira is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Bitchin knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Pereira looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Pereira is breathing heavily. Bitchin is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Pereira wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Bitchin, who protects the arm well.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Bitchin throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Pereira decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Bitchin's guard. Bitchin wants to sweep but no luck. Pereira trying to control the position from guard on top but Bitchin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Bitchin is on top in guard.
Pereira is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bitchin is stalling in the full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Let's hope that Bitchin has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Bitchin stands and steps away. Pereira gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Bitchin swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Pereira counters with a nice double leg into guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Pereira has gone for a leg lock! Bitchin slips out almost immediately though and dives into Pereira's guard. Bitchin controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Ulysses Pereira will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

A left and a right from Bitchin both land. Nice combination. Bitchin looks to land a combination but Pereira avoids it well. Pereira wants to clinch. Pereira tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Pereira fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Pereira takes a body punch but keeps moving.

and Pereira counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Bitchin is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Pereira is controlling him. Pereira postures up in Bitchin's guard and throws a big left but Bitchin blocks it. Bitchin seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Pereira working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Bitchin manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Bitchin dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Ulysses Pereira is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Bitchin scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Bitchin will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Pereira darts in and clinches Bitchin up against the cage. Pereira is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Pereira drops down looking for an ankle pick but Bitchin pulls his leg out and moves away.

Bob Bitchin has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Bitchin swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Pereira counters with a nice double leg into guard.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Ulysses Pereira. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Pereira, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
