Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Latham (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rabid Rabbit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Latham comes to the cage accompanied by New Sensation - INXS. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Mark Latham!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Rabid Rabbit!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Paul Tew and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rabbit moves into the clinch.
Latham stops a takedown attempt from Rabbit.
Latham wants to break free but Rabbit has control.
Latham is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Latham misses with some punches.
Rabbit fails to pull guard.
Rabbit tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Latham smiles and moves away.
Mark Latham has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rabid Rabbit.
Rabbit shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Latham as he jumps to the side.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Latham wants to clinch

and Rabbit counters with a nice double leg into side control. Latham won't be happy with that.
Latham manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Latham is not content to let Rabbit control the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Latham regains full guard. Nicely done.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Latham is on top in guard.
Rabbit working a defensive guard here.

Rabbit is looking for a triangle but Latham pushes his legs off easily.
Latham pushing down on Rabbit's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Rabbit looks gassed!
Latham performing his best blanket impression for a moment.

Latham is looking for a kimura but Rabbit is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Latham to get the leverage.

Latham is controlling the pace.
Latham tries to pass to full mount but Rabbit defends it.
Latham looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Rabbit with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Latham is trying to control the action in half guard but Rabbit is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Latham is taking a breather. Rabbit says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Latham is looking for a kimura but Rabbit is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Latham to get the leverage.
Latham wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rabbit keeps working.
Rabbit holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.

Latham is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Rabbit trying to control here.
Latham scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Rabbit keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.

Latham is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Rabbit doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Latham.

Rabbit tries to get to full guard but Latham has control of the leg.
Latham uses his free foot to push down on Rabbit's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Rabbit.
Latham fails to advance to Rabbit's back.
Latham working the ground and pound effectively.

Latham working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mark Latham dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!



Latham closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
You can see the frustration on Rabbit's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Latham tries to move into full mount but can't pass Rabbit's legs.
Latham passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Rabbit!
Rabbit tries to lock up and control but Latham gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Rabbit is breathing heavily.
Latham landing strikes from the mount.

Latham working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Latham wants to control the pace but Rabbit is squirming around nicely.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Latham is trying to take his opponent's back.
Mark Latham overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Rabbit can't escape the position.
Latham looking to control but Rabbit is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Rabbit defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Latham.

Latham swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Rabbit is now in Latham's guard. A big mistake from Latham there, giving up the dominant position!
Rabbit wants to control from the top but Latham keeps moving.
Rabbit really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Latham. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Latham is looking to sinch up a triangle. Rabbit throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Latham's body to avoid the submission. Latham has instead reached around Rabbit's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Latham arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:26 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Mark Latham!
