Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between mario houston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rocky Balboa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). houston comes to the cage accompanied by lil wayne (a milli). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rocky Balboa! The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Jorge Garcia and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Balboa shoots for a double leg takedown but houston sprawls well. He's pushed Balboa's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Balboa shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Balboa shoots in but no luck this time. mario houston has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rocky Balboa. Balboa tries to clinch but houston is having none of it. Balboa closes the distance and clinches. Balboa lands an elbow that stopped houston in his tracks for a moment. houston pushes Balboa off and gets back to his feet. Balboa displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from houston. Balboa has his takedown stuffed and houston counters with a takedown into side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. houston trying to control the action but Balboa is working from the bottom. houston remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. houston is looking to take a break and control but Balboa is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Balboa is trying to improve his position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Balboa holds on to houston's head and controls the position momentarily. houston just content to control the position. Balboa is trying to improve his position. houston is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Balboa's shoulder. That is not cool.
The referee stands the fighters back up. mario houston just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Balboa misses with a takedown so houston counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Balboa scores a takedown into full mount! houston takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Balboa is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But houston has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from houston! houston is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. houston knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Balboa on the ground. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Balboa tries to grapple but his opponent circles and houston decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Balboa's guard. houston controls the pace of the fight for a moment. houston wants to control from the top but Balboa keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Balboa has control of houston's left arm, preventing houston from doing any damage. Balboa keeping moving, preventing houston from controlling successfully. Balboa wants to sweep here but houston controlling him for the moment. Balboa is trying to control the position but houston postures up. Balboa has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but houston can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. houston is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. houston has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Balboa wants to get back to his feet but houston is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Balboa shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Balboa showed some decent athleticism there. Balboa throwing shots but houston is blocking nicely.

Balboa throws a head kick that misses and houston counters with a nice double leg into guard. Balboa is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. houston won't allow Balboa to sweep him here.
