Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dick Sonnen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and King Laz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dick Sonnen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, King Laz! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Laz tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Sonnen doesn't manage to clinch there - Laz circles away.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Sonnen. Laz tries a head kick but it misses.
Laz throws a head kick that misses. Laz throws a nice head kick!
Laz tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Sonnen paws at him with a jab and circles away. Laz fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Sonnen, pushing him back against the cage. Laz looking to throw knees to the head but Sonnen is blocking nicely.
Sonnen tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Laz smiles and moves away.
Sonnen shoots in for a takedown but Laz shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dick Sonnen. That's going to take a lot out of him. Laz misses with a head kick.
Sonnen shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Laz napping and manages to drive through into side control! Laz is looking to regain half guard here but Sonnen keeps moving and retains side control. Laz looks to move to half guard but instead Sonnen has passed into mount! Damn! Laz working to try and regain half guard.
Sonnen lands a heavy elbow.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sonnen controlling his opponent. Laz keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Sonnen is landing with some decent strikes but Laz is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Laz is trying to stand. Sonnen prevents Laz from getting the reversal. Sonnen with shots to the head and body - Laz looks very uncomfortable down there. Laz taking shots to the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sonnen in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Laz is rocked! Laz is desperately trying to improve his position but Sonnen has a good base and remains in mount. Sonnen has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Laz wants to hold on but Sonnen pushes him away. Laz looks gassed! You get the feeling that Laz really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Sonnen looking to control and managing it successfully. Sonnen has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Laz is in a horrible position here. Sonnen smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Laz is looking to improve his position but Sonnen isn't that keen on the idea. Sonnen working away from the top, dropping strikes. Sonnen controlling the position easily from mount. Sonnen lands with some strikes. Laz wants to hold on but Sonnen pushes him away. Sonnen lands a big elbow. Sonnen breaks from Laz's wrist control and lands an elbow. Sonnen looking to control but Laz is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Sonnen with the ground and pound from mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sonnen lands a big shot there that rocks Laz but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Sonnen postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Laz looks a forlorn figure.
Sonnen is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Laz can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Laz is still in real trouble! Can Sonnen finish him? Sonnen won't let Laz get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Laz seems to have recovered his senses. Sonnen working the ground and pound effectively.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Sonnen lands a nice shot to the head. Laz takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Laz is in all sorts of trouble here.
BOOM! Sonnen connects with a massive shot to the dome!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Laz is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Sonnen loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Laz scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Sonnen land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Sonnen stands and salutes the crowd.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dick Sonnen!
