Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Vic Lester (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jackie Day (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Day comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Hammerfall - At the End of the Rainbow kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Jackie Day is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Vic Lester! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jackie Day! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Yves DeLean and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lester fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Day avoids it really well and circles away. Day misses with a takedown attempt - Lester sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Day tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Lester swivels and escapes. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lester displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Day. Vic Lester has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jackie Day. Some wild striking there from Day.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lester misses with a takedown and Day decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Lester's guard. Lester looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Day postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Lester is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Day, into his guard. Day really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lester. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Lester wants to control from the top but Day keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lester lands a couple of digs. Lester postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Day is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Lester, into his guard. Lester looking for a sweep. Not yet Lester, not yet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lester preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Day must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Day postures up in Lester's guard and throws a big left but Lester blocks it. Day missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Day is looking to work some ground and pound but Lester has wrist control. Day loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Day works over Lester with some ground and pound from guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Lester looking to hit a scissor sweep but Day is one step ahead there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Lester takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Day fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Lester on the side of the head.
It looks like Vic Lester has been cut. Lester tries to clinch but fails miserably and Day counters by clinching up. Day lands a shot to the body. Day works on Lester's body with a couple of short punches. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jackie Day dominated that round. The cut man is working on Vic Lester's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Lester keeps the fight on the outside. Day fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Lester avoids it really well and circles away. Day has Lester up against the cage in a clinch.

Lester is refusing to be controlled, as Day sits in half guard. Day missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Lester avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Day. Lester is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Day wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lester keeps working.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Day keeps the fight on the outside. Day doesn't manage to clinch there - Lester circles away.
Day closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Lester did well to prevent Day getting side control. Day looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Day thows a huge punch but Lester dodges it nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Day not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Lester is refusing to be controlled, as Day sits in half guard. Day is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Lester doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Day. Lester is looking for a sweep. Day is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Day scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Lester works his way to full guard. Good work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Day sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Lester's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Nice strikes from Day there. Day working Lester over with strikes. Day thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Lester's head. Day lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Lester is not content to let Day control the position. Day prevents Lester from improving his position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jackie Day showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Vic Lester's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
Day looks to clinch letting Lester counter with a right hand. Lester works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Day drives through and clinches with Lester against the cage.

Day lands a body shot. Day tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Day lands a body punch in the clinch. Day is leaning against Lester and scores with a nice uppercut to the body. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Day gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Day tries to free his leg and advance position but Lester is retaining full guard. Day is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
That's one minute gone in the round. Day forces his way into half guard. Day scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Day missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Day not landing any meaningful shots this time. Day lands strikes from half guard. Day is working for a kimura but Lester is defending it quite comfortably.
Day wants to control but Lester is keeping him busy.

Day throws a strike but Lester rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Lester pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Day is keeping the position for now.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Day seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Jackie Day is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Day shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Lester is looking to improve his position.
Vic Lester has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Day seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Lester does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
And that's the end of the fight! Jackie Day comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Day has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
