Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Curtis Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kendall Maivia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Curtis Davis is staring across the ring at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maivia showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Davis.
Davis moves in looking to clinch but Maivia pushes him off.

Maivia shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Davis napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Maivia working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Maivia breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Davis misses with a wild combination.
Maivia takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Davis lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Maivia circles away quickly and effectively.
Maivia scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Davis fails with an attempt to clinch.
Maivia shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Davis pinned against the cage. Davis gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Maivia closes the distance and clinches up with Davis, looking for a takedown. Maivia pushes Davis against the ropes but Davis circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Maivia shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Davis pinned against the cage. Davis gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Maivia gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Davis.

and Maivia makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Davis moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Davis throws a push kick but Maivia slaps the foot to one side.
Davis comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Maivia swats away the attempt to clinch by Davis.

Davis closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Davis is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Maivia defends it well.

Davis is trying to work for a kimura but Maivia is defending well.
Davis wants to stand but Maivia has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Maivia wants to control but Davis is keeping busy.

Davis looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Davis tries to close the distance and clinch but Maivia swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

The fight stays on the outside here - Davis looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Davis cracks Maivia with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

and Davis counters with a stiff right hand.
Maivia closes the distance and clinches up with Davis, looking for a takedown. Maivia pushes Davis against the ropes but Davis circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Davis lands with a nice combination. Maivia backs away looking to recover.
Davis stalks Maivia and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Maivia's face. Maivia staggers backwards, shaken.
Maivia is breathing heavily.
Maivia shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Davis throws a series of punches but Maivia avoids them all with ease.

and Davis counters with a single leg into guard. Maivia didn't expect that.

Davis tries to free his leg and advance position but Maivia is retaining full guard.

Davis throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Maivia works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Davis chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Maivia can pounce on him.

Maivia has managed to clinch.
Davis has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Maivia is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Maivia gets control of Davis's arms and successfully pulls guard. Maivia will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Davis slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Maivia has momentary wrist control but Davis slips an elbow through the middle.
Maivia throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

Davis drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Maivia dives on top into guard.

Davis is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Maivia defends well.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Davis escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Maivia gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Davis looking for a guillotine here but Maivia defends easily.
Curtis Davis overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Maivia wants to stand but Davis has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Davis looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Curtis Davis dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round!

Maivia misses with a takedown

and Davis counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Maivia has momentary wrist control but Davis slips an elbow through the middle.

Davis drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Davis jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Maivia working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Davis doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Maivia is tightening it up a little... Davis has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Davis reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Davis taps out! nice BJJ there by Maivia!
