The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Station avoids a punch combination nicely.
Dickson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Station moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Dickson tries to bum rush Station with a series of wild strikes but Station uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Station scores with a takedown into Dickson's guard. Station wants to pass the guard but Dickson is keeping the position. Station trying to control but Dickson is working from the bottom. Dickson keeping full guard, as Station tries to pass. Dickson is working an open guard so Station takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dickson throws a series of punches but Station moves out of range. Dickson misses with a series of wild punches.
David Dickson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Station shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Station decides to stand and escape the position. Dickson misses with a wild combination.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Station seems to be working for a kimura but Dickson defends the submission attempt. Station wants to stand but Dickson has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Station tries to pass the half guard into mount. Dickson knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. A punch combination from Dickson misses. Dickson looks to land a combination but Station avoids it well. Station checks the leg kick. Station moves into range and clinches up with Dickson. Station keeps control of Dickson as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Station stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Station jumps guard but Dickson stands there with Station around his waist. Station gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Station fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Dickson, pushing him back against the cage. Station has Dickson pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Dickson manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dickson would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Dickson is breathing heavily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dickson is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Station is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Dickson throws a right and a left that both miss. Station drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Station wants to pass the guard but Dickson is keeping the position. Station showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Station wants to control from the top but Dickson keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Station pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Dickson is keeping the position for now.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Dickson gets caught flat footed, as Station shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Station stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dickson swivels though and keeps the full guard. Station pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Dickson tumbling to the mat - Station dives into Dickson's guard. Station knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Dickson on the ground. Dickson looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Station wants to pass the guard but Dickson is keeping the position. Dickson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Station gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Dickson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Station working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Dickson's head. Dickson avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Station wants to control from the top but Dickson keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Station missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Station tries to free his leg and advance position but Dickson is retaining full guard. Station tries to stand but Dickson is controlling from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. A combination from Dickson does no damage. Dickson misses with a two punch combination.
Station dodges the punch combination from Dickson.
Station throws a body punch but Dickson moves out of range. Station slips a jab and a cross from Dickson.

Station could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Dickson tries to keep at a distance but Station has taken the fight into the clinch. Station breaks the clinch.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Station in particular looking to stall. Dickson is not content to let Station control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Station decides to stand up. Station shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Dickson is trying to defend but Station finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Station with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Tony Station showed his dominance in that final round. Well Station has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
