Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jure Car (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Juvenal Garupa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Shirou Masuda and Sosuke Kotani.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Garupa shoots for a takedown but Car saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Car throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

It looks like Juvenal Garupa has been cut.
Car takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Garupa lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Garupa tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Car swivels and escapes.
Jure Car has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Juvenal Garupa.

Car shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Garupa manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Car gets to his feet. Garupa looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Car shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Car showed some decent athleticism there.

Car is pressing down on Garupa's thigh, looking to free his foot. Garupa is holding on for now.
Car knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Garupa on the ground.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Car lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Garupa is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Well, if Car is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Garupa is trying to control but can't.
Car is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Car controlling the pace.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Car tries to pass the half guard into mount. Garupa knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Garupa wants to get back to his feet.
Car looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Car stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Garupa shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Car counters with a shoot takedown. Garupa fights it but they end up in guard.

Car stands and throws Garupa's legs to the side, diving into side control.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Car grinds an elbow into Garupa's temple.
Car remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Garupa tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Car wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Car gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Car has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Garupa is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Car's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Garupa throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Car.

Car has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Garupa uses from the top position.

Car swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Garupa is now in Car's guard. A big mistake from Car there, giving up the dominant position!
Car is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Garupa is controlling him.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

and Garupa counters with a single leg into guard. Car didn't expect that.
Car wants to sweep here but Garupa controlling him for the moment.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jure Car.
Well Car has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
