Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dan Hardy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ian Jodion (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hardy comes to the cage accompanied by Given Up. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Paul Tew and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hardy closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Jodion is looking for a sweep.
Hardy knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jodion on the ground.

Hardy is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Jodion knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Jodion can't do much from the bottom here.
Jodion is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Hardy off and has taken his back!
Jodion is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Hardy defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Jodion is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Hardy defends it well.

Hardy pushes Jodion off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Hardy gets a clinch.
Hardy lands a knee to the head.
It looks like Ian Jodion has been cut.

Hardy escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Jodion takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Hardy darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Hardy is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Jodion is just riding it out for now. Hardy eventually gives up the hold.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hardy slips a nice elbow through Jodion's hands, connecting with Jodion's forehead.

Hardy scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
A slapping leg kick lands for Hardy.
Hardy shoots for a takedown but Jodion saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Jodion is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Hardy has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jodion gets his hands free as Hardy looks to control.

Hardy misses with a takedown
and Jodion counters with a nice double leg into side control. Hardy won't be happy with that.
Jodion is trying to get an arm triangle but Hardy is defending well.
Jodion thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Jodion wants to take a breather but Hardy manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Jodion.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Hardy has his feet on Jodion's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Hardy changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Jodion looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Jodion tries to buck Hardy off but Hardy is having none of it.

Jodion is trying to control Hardy's posture but Hardy avoids it.

Hardy is trying to work for a kimura but Jodion is defending well.
Jodion is positioning himself well to prevent Hardy advancing to mount.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Jodion is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Jodion wants to control but Hardy is keeping busy.
Hardy tries to stand and escape but Jodion actually recovers to full guard.
Hardy pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Jodion is keeping the position for now.
Hardy drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Jodion dives on top into guard.

Jodion drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Jodion jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Hardy had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Jodion is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Hardy Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Jodion's back instead.

Hardy working for a choke but Jodion reverses nicely into Hardy 's guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Jodion trying to control but Hardy is working from the bottom.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Hardy looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Hardy is looking to advance position but Jodion won't allow it.

A close second round but Ian Jodion will probably get the nod - 10:9.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Jodion wants to control from the top but Hardy keeps moving.
Hardy is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Jodion won't allow Hardy to get back to his feet.
Jodion stands and throws Hardy's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Jodion has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Jodion is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Hardy is surviving well by controlling Jodion's body position as best he can.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Hardy is trying desperately to improve position.

Jodion can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Hardy is looking to escape.
Jodion goes for an armbar but Hardy turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Hardy.
Jodion is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Jodion has his foot on Hardy's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hardy works his way back into a safe position though.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Hardy postures up.
Hardy has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Jodion is proving hard to escape from.
Hardy postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Jodion is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Hardy, into his guard.

Hardy is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Jodion is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Jodion pushes down on Hardy's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Jodion is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Hardy doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Jodion.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Jodion is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Jodion is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Hardy reverses the position - he's now on top in Jodion's guard.

Ian Jodion comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Jodion has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
