Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Clifton Barnes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jarpi Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these fighters are unbeaten, so somebody's 0 has got to go!The key to victory for Clifton Barnes has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jarpi Johnson! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Colin Fotheringham and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson on the wrong end of a nice jab. Johnson closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Johnson throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Johnson seems to be looking for submissions.
Barnes wants to improve his position but Johnson is controlling well.
Barnes keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Johnson connects with a nice short shot to Barnes's temple. Barnes wants to get back to full guard. Johnson thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Barnes's head. Johnson sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Barnes defending well though. Johnson looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Johnson throwing shots but Barnes is blocking nicely. Johnson thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Barnes to regain full guard. Johnson preventing the sweep.
That's one minute gone in the round. Johnson missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Barnes tries to land a sweep but no joy. Johnson is pushing down on Barnes's leg trying to pass to half guard. Barnes is fighting to maintain full guard but Johnson has managed to sneak the leg through. Johnson scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Johnson is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Barnes has managed to free his arm - good work. Johnson is working for a submission of some sort.

Johnson uses his free foot to push down on Barnes's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Barnes. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Johnson raining down shots from the mount! Barnes taking shots to the head. Johnson working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Barnes bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Barnes loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Barnes scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Barnes avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Johnson keeping moving, preventing Barnes from controlling successfully. Barnes stopping the sweep attempt from Johnson. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Barnes trying to control the position from guard on top but Johnson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Johnson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Barnes gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Johnson looks gassed! Johnson is looking for a triangle here but Barnes uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Johnson tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Barnes wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Barnes gets to mount! Johnson was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. Johnson is looking to get to half guard. Barnes working Johnson over with strikes here. Barnes fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Johnson is rocked!
The cut above Jarpi Johnson's eye is starting to cause him problems now. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Barnes loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Johnson scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Barnes land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Barnes stands and salutes the crowd.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Clifton Barnes! Clifton Barnes retains his heavyweight title!
