Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Craig David (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dax Hawkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). David comes to the ring accompanied by Craig David - Rise and Fall. Craig David has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Craig David!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Dax Hawkins!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Andrew Berry and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hawkins fails with the takedown.
David jabbing away but nothing is landing.
David slips a jab from Hawkins.

David bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The strikes coming from David are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Hawkins avoids any damage from the ground and pound of David.
David tries to score with some ground and pound. Hawkins controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
The ground and pound from David seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Hawkins is pushing David's head away, looking to escape. David manages to hold on to the position though.
David creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Hawkins sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

David tries for a kimura but Hawkins is defending well.
The strikes coming from David are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

David wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Hawkins, who protects the arm well.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

David throws a strike aimed at the side of Hawkins's head but Hawkins avoids it well.
Hawkins is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, David asserts his dominance and retains side control.
David has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
David looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Hawkins is avoiding damage well.

David decides to stand up, so the ref orders Hawkins to his feet.
David on the wrong end of a nice hook.
David shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Hawkins with a nice cross.
Hawkins lands a jab to David's midsection.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hawkins lands with a shot to the body.
Hawkins connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between David's hands.
Hawkins wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
David throws a right hand that Hawkins ducks under and follows up with a left that Hawkins also avoids with ease.

Dax Hawkins seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
David is breathing heavily.
Hawkins throws out a powerful jab.
David walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Hawkins jabs David right on the nose. David blinks but takes it well.
David is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Hawkins.


It looks like Craig David has been cut.
No joy there for Hawkins, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Hawkins gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and David counters with a shoot takedown. Hawkins fights it but they end up in guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
David trying to control the position from guard on top but Hawkins is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
David prevents Hawkins from getting back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
David in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Hawkins is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
David looking to pass the guard.
Hawkins keeping moving, preventing David from controlling successfully.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
David thows a big elbow that misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Craig David will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Craig David's cut.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Hawkins fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Hawkins stalks David and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into David's face. David staggers backwards, shaken.
David stuffs the takedown attempt from Hawkins. Hawkins gets slowly back to his feet.
Hawkins digs a good body shot into David's ribs.
Some wild striking there from David.
Hawkins lands with a hook. David tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Hawkins shoots in and drives through. David sprawls well.
Hawkins shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Craig David has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dax Hawkins.

David forces Hawkins back against the ropes and clinches.
Hawkins drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Hawkins works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

David is looking to sinch up a triangle. Hawkins throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to David's body to avoid the submission. David has instead reached around Hawkins's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! David arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:04 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Craig David!
