Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Daz Rawlinson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Bai Sistjierten! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, James Glass and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sistjierten cracks Rawlinson with an uppercut from hell and Rawlinson crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Sistjierten's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!
It looks like Daz Rawlinson has been cut. Sistjierten working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Rawlinson is rocked! Sistjierten missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Sistjierten is working Rawlinson over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Sistjierten makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Oh Rawlinson is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Sistjierten loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Rawlinson seems to have got his legs back now. Sistjierten postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Rawlinson wants to stand and escape but Sistjierten is having none of it. Sistjierten has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Sistjierten working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Sistjierten loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Rawlinson preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Rawlinson wants to stand and escape but Sistjierten is having none of it. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Rawlinson circles away from the clinch attempt.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Sistjierten. Sistjierten takes a kick to the side of the head. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Rawlinson ducks straight into an uppercut from Sistjierten and tumbles to the canvas! It’s a flash knockdown though - Rawlinson manages to regain guard straight away.
Sistjierten loads up on a big left hand. Rawlinson felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Sistjierten looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Rawlinson can't hide his disappointment, as Sistjierten celebrates the victory.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:03 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bai Sistjierten!
