The bell rings for round one and we are underway! English closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Gammon looks gassed! English is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
It looks like Ernest Michael Gammon has been cut. English has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Nice strikes from English there. English working Gammon over with strikes. English not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. English is nestled in close to Gammon, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. English connects with a nice short shot to Gammon's temple. English not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. English landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. English thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Gammon is trying to defend against the ground and pound but English scores with a couple of nice shots. English slips a nice elbow through Gammon's hands, connecting with Gammon's forehead. English is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
That has opened up Ernest Michael Gammon's cut even more. English lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Gammon is trying to defend against the ground and pound but English scores with a couple of nice shots.
