Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Yurgi Invokov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrew Lanier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lanier has chosen Sage Francis-Sea Lion as his entrance music. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Invokov gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Lanier to score an easy takedown into full guard. Lanier avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Lanier wants to pass the guard but Invokov is keeping the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lanier controls from within his opponent's guard. Invokov is trying to control the position but Lanier postures up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Invokov keeping full guard, as Lanier tries to pass. Lanier pushes down on Invokov's leg and manages to get into half guard. Lanier is nestled in close to Invokov, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Invokov looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Lanier is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Lanier is keen to just control but Invokov is a slippery customer.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Invokov is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Lanier pulls his head out easily. Lanier trying to control the action but Invokov is working from the bottom. Invokov gets full guard. Lanier postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Invokov is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Lanier, into his guard. Lanier trying to keep a closed guard but Invokov is proving a slippery customer.
Lanier escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Invokov gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lanier tries to land a sweep but no joy. Lanier is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Invokov trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Invokov drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Lanier manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Invokov has Lanier in his guard. Invokov is looking for a triangle but Lanier pushes his legs off easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lanier tries to free his leg and advance position but Invokov is retaining full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lanier sitting in guard, not really doing much. Lanier wants to control from the top but Invokov keeps moving. Invokov has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Lanier can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Lanier trying to control but Invokov is working from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Yurgi Invokov will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Lanier shoots in looking for a takedown. Invokov tries to sprawl out of it but Lanier keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Invokov manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Lanier drives through with a takedown into guard. Invokov is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Lanier defends well. Invokov can't keep his opponent in guard - Lanier advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Invokov is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Lanier pulls his head out easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Invokov is looking to control Lanier's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Invokov avoid being mounted? Invokov works his way to full guard. Good work. Lanier has gone for a leg lock! Invokov slips out almost immediately though and dives into Lanier's guard. Invokov stands and throws Lanier's legs to the side, diving into side control. Invokov wants to take a breather but Lanier manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Invokov. Invokov wants to pass the guard but Lanier is keeping the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Invokov drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Lanier dives on top into guard. Lanier sitting in guard here, content to control. Lanier stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Invokov swivels though and keeps the full guard. Lanier slips nicely into half guard. Lanier misses with a head shot. Invokov uses the momentum to regain guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Invokov has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Lanier doesn't defend quickly enough and Invokov has managed to lock this one up! Can Lanier escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Invokov on a fantastic submission victory.
