Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Ringo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Takeshi Shuhan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ringo's entrance music is Rude Boy. A fine choice. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Columbo Gatti and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ringo looks to land a combination. Shuhan sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Shuhan lands a high kick!
Ringo misses with a low kick.
Shuhan misses with a head kick.
Ringo is looking to clinch but Shuhan is avoiding it.
Ringo clinches with his opponent.
Shuhan is looking for a takedown up against the ropes. Ringo gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Ringo is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Shuhan is defending well for now.
Ringo is trying to break the clinch but Shuhan is controlling him.
Ringo tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Shuhan smiles and moves away.

Shuhan tries to pull guard but Ringo holds him up against the ropes and eventually Shuhan drops back down to his feet.

Ringo escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Ringo closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Shuhan to the mat! Shuhan manages to get full guard.
Ringo decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Shuhan, up you get!

A frustrated look appears on Shuhan's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Shuhan keeps control of Ringo as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Shuhan has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Ringo avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Ringo works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

Shuhan tries to break the clinch but Ringo is controlling the position.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
A nice right hand lands inside from Ringo.

Ringo tightens his grip and picks Shuhan up, before dumping him to the ground. Shuhan manages to land in guard.
Ringo is breathing heavily.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ringo accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Shuhan throws a wild body kick that Ringo sees coming a mile off.

Shuhan tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Ringo just stands there and leans against the ropes.
Ringo wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Shuhan has him pressed against the ropes.

With the two fighters working up against the ropes, Shuhan just misses with a elbow thrown towards Ringo's brow.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shuhan wants to get back to striking at distance but Ringo won't allow it.
Ringo gets control of Shuhan's arms and successfully pulls guard. Ringo will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Ringo has Shuhan pulled in close to control his posture.

Ringo stands and steps away. Shuhan gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

The fight stays on the outside here - Ringo looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Ringo throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Shuhan counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Ringo is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Ringo fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Shuhan sprawls well initially but Ringo persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Ringo lands a nice short elbow.

Ringo has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Shuhan is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Ringo makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Ringo tries to break free but Shuhan pushes him back against the ropes.
Ringo lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Ringo has Shuhan pressed up against the ropes. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Ringo pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Shuhan tumbling to the mat - Ringo dives into Shuhan's guard.
Takeshi Shuhan has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Ringo stands up from Shuhan's guard - Ringo perhaps looking for a knockout.
And that's the end of the fight!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Ringo, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
