PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rob Douglas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and JP Selesky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Douglas comes to the cage accompanied by Bounty Killa - Sufferer. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Douglas throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Selesky's waist but Selesky gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Douglas off to one side.
Douglas is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Douglas has a takedown stuffed.
A head kick misses from Douglas.
Selesky keeps the fight on the outside.

Selesky moves into the clinch.

Selesky pulls Douglas into guard.
Douglas is fighting to break Selesky's control of his arms but Selesky is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Selesky wants to stand up but Douglas is controlling him.
Douglas postures up in Selesky's guard and throws a big left but Selesky blocks it.

Douglas strikes from the bottom but Selesky uses the opportunity to move to side control.

Despite being in the dominant position, JP Selesky just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Selesky stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Douglas to get to his feet.

Douglas wants to stand but Selesky is controlling his arm.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Selesky is on top in guard.
Douglas is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Selesky tries to advance to mount but can't.

Douglas is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Selesky has just dragged him back down to the mat.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

JP Selesky showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Douglas closes the distance but Selesky moves to the side

and Selesky decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Douglas's guard.

Douglas is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Douglas can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Selesky controls the pace.

Douglas has his foot on Selesky's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Selesky works his way back into a safe position though.

Selesky tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Douglas smiles and moves away.
Douglas throws a push kick but Selesky slaps the foot to one side.
Douglas has his takedown stuffed

and Selesky counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Selesky.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rob Douglas. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Douglas tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Douglas gets underhooks to prevent Selesky's takedown attempt.
Selesky stops a takedown attempt from Douglas.
Douglas changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Selesky fights it off and pushes away nicely.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Douglas throws a nasty head kick that just misses. He throws another kick to the head of his opponent and almost takes it off! Selesky crumples to the floor and the fight is over!
