The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Frank Dennis and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Champion tries to clinch up but Velasquez circles away and keeps his distance.
Champion lands a lovely overhand right.
A punch combination from Velasquez misses.
Velasquez misses with a wild combination.
Velasquez throws a right hand that Champion ducks under and follows up with a left that Champion also avoids with ease.
Velasquez takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Champion shoots in for a double leg but Velasquez sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Velasquez misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Velasquez cracks Champion with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Velasquez has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Champion to stand back up!
It looks like Lance Champion has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Velasquez will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Champion misses with a head kick.
Champion lands a high kick!
Champion moves in looking to clinch but Velasquez pushes him off.
Velasquez misses with the combination.
Champion moves forwards but Velasquez connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Champion plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Velasquez cracks Champion with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Velasquez has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Champion to stand back up!
Champion is rocked!
Champion is holding his hands too far apart here. Velasquez throws a hard, straight punch right down the pipe and BOOM! Champion is out! That punch landed square on the jaw - what a shot!
