Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John St Clair! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Wesley Smith and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! St Clair shoots in and bounces Starr off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Starr is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. St Clair is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. St Clair is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Starr throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Starr looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Starr is breathing heavily. St Clair wants to control from the top but Starr keeps moving.

Despite being in the dominant position, John St Clair just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. St Clair closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. St Clair lands with a punch from half guard. St Clair slips a nice elbow through Starr's hands, connecting with Starr's forehead. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. St Clair lands a nice short elbow. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John St Clair dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
St Clair pushes Starr up against the cage in a clinch. St Clair is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body. St Clair lands with a short head shot on the inside. St Clair has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Starr is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. St Clair is trying to drag Starr to the mat but Starr just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. St Clair goes for a takedown in the clinch but Starr prevents it.
Brock Starr has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John St Clair. Starr is pressed up against the cage. St Clair has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Starr down to the mat. Starr avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. St Clair feints and as Starr raises his hands in defense, St Clair changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. St Clair wants to control from the top but Starr keeps moving. St Clair not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Let's hope that St Clair has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

St Clair is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. St Clair looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Starr stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Starr wants it to stay on the feet. St Clair has a takedown stuffed. Brock Starr is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. St Clair shoots in and drives through. Starr sprawls well. St Clair will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. St Clair closes the distance and pushes Starr back into the cage. St Clair drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

John St Clair showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
St Clair decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Starr is looking to improve his position.

He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Starr has managed to free his arm - good work.

Starr is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but St Clair pulls his head out easily. John St Clair has got the better of the ground game so far. St Clair controlling the action here. St Clair working over Starr with some ground and pound. Starr looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
That's three minutes gone in the round. St Clair looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Still in half guard, St Clair seems content to control. John St Clair is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. St Clair scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
