Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jeronimo Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Artemis Grange!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Russell Pearce and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Grange did well to prevent Silva getting side control.
Grange has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Silva escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Silva!
Silva working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Grange regains half guard.
Grange with the active half guard here but Silva passes nicely into side control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Silva looks to land a body kick but Grange moved away.
Silva misses with a jab, cross combination.
Grange keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Nice sprawl there from Grange as Silva shoots in.
Silva looks for a takedown but Grange sprawls well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jeronimo Silva. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Grange feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Grange postures up.
Silva is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Grange actively working from the bottom here.
Silva perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Silva seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Grange for as long as he can get away with.

Grange is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Silva pulls his head out easily.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Silva is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Grange is just riding it out for now. Silva eventually gives up the hold.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Silva wants to get back to his feet.
Silva prevents Grange from improving his position.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Silva doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Grange counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Silva tries to kick Grange off but Grange keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Grange is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Silva has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Grange is working away from the top position though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Artemis Grange will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Silva shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Grange manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Grange is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Silva trying to control the position from guard on top but Grange is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Grange escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Silva gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Grange looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Silva not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Silva is pushing down on Grange's leg trying to pass to half guard. Grange is fighting to maintain full guard but Silva has managed to sneak the leg through.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Silva is trying to control. Grange wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Silva thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Grange to regain full guard.
Silva wants to pass the guard but Grange is keeping the position.
Grange has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Silva is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Grange.
Grange is breathing heavily.
Silva wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Grange, who protects the arm well.
Grange tries to improve position but can't.

Silva has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Grange is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Silva yanks on the arm and Grange is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Silva.
