Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Pete Stockton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Douglas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Douglas has chosen Ja Rule - New York as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Pete Stockton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jay Douglas! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Robert Douchet and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Douglas shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Stockton pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Stockton misses with a takedown and Douglas counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Douglas prevents Stockton from standing back up.
Stockton gets back to full guard.
Douglas gets to his feet. Stockton looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Douglas gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Stockton counters with a nice double leg into side control. Douglas won't be happy with that. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! You can see the frustration on Douglas's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Stockton trying to control the position but Douglas is working away.
That's one minute gone in the round. A control attempt from Douglas but he's now mounted! Stockton can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Douglas is looking to escape. Douglas can't escape the position.
Stockton trying to control but he's not successful this time. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Douglas can do anything to dispel that myth. Douglas manages to regain half guard. Good work. Stockton thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Douglas's head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Stockton looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Stockton is breathing heavily. Stockton is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Douglas defends it well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Douglas is trying to maintain the position but Stockton is very close to passing his half guard. Stockton trying to pass the guard but Douglas defending well. Stockton stalling.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Douglas works his way to full guard. Good work. Douglas throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Douglas doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Douglas is on top in guard.
Stockton looking for a sweep. Not yet Stockton, not yet. Douglas stands up and waves to Stockton to follow him. Stockton feints and as Douglas raises his hands in defense, Stockton changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Douglas is rocked!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Douglas has his hands on Stockton's head, controlling the position. Stockton wants to control from the top but Douglas keeps moving. Stockton trying to stand up but can't free himself from Douglas's guard. Stockton landing with the ground and pound. Stockton trying to control the position from guard on top but Douglas is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Jay Douglas will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Douglas shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Douglas tries to stand and escape but Stockton actually recovers to full guard. Stockton looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Douglas passes into side control.
Douglas takes a little break here. Stockton wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Stockton tries to improve position but can't.
That's one minute gone in the round. A lull in the action here. Douglas trying to control the action but Stockton is working from the bottom. Douglas controlling the position from side mount. Douglas wants to lay and pray for a moment but Stockton keeps working. Stockton is trying to improve his position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Douglas lands a nice forearm strike. Stockton is looking for a sweep. Stockton wants to control but Douglas postures up.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Stockton doesn't succeed with the takedown and Douglas counters with an outside leg kick.
Stockton closes the distance looking to clinch and Douglas holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Stockton jumps guard but Douglas stands there with Stockton around his waist. Stockton gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Douglas has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Stockton clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Can Stockton hold on?! Douglas is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.
Douglas is not going to allow Stockton to sit and survive in this position. Douglas is looking for the choke from the back position but Stockton is controlling his hands well. Stockton wants to get back to his feet. Stockton manages to stand up with Douglas still on his back. Eventually Douglas drops to his feet and we're back in the standing position. Stockton scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Stockton trying to control the position but Douglas is working away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Stockton moves into full mount! Stockton controlling from the full mount. Douglas keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Douglas wants to hold on but Stockton pushes him away. Douglas tries to reverse the position but Stockton maintains control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jay Douglas showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
A low kick from Stockton is predictable there and Douglas decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Stockton's guard. Douglas lands a couple of digs. Stockton keeping moving, preventing Douglas from controlling successfully. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Douglas preventing the sweep. Douglas tries to free his leg and advance position but Stockton is retaining full guard. Stockton pulls Douglas in to control the position. Douglas pushes down on Stockton's leg and manages to get into half guard. Douglas seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Stockton does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Douglas wants to pass the guard but Stockton is defending well. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Douglas takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stockton pushes Douglas off looking to stand but Douglas dives back in and keeps control.
Stockton is refusing to be controlled, as Douglas sits in half guard. Douglas is looking to stall here but Stockton recovers full guard. Stockton looking for a sweep. Not yet Stockton, not yet. Stockton wants to control but Douglas passes easily into half guard.
Stockton manages to get to full guard.
Stockton working a defensive guard but Douglas manages to pass into side control anyway.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Stockton is trying to get back to half guard. Douglas tries to advance position but instead Stockton slips a leg back in to half guard. Stockton manages to get to full guard.
Douglas postures up.
Stockton is pulling down on Douglas's head. It's preventing any offense from Douglas, at least for the moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stockton is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Douglas wants to control from the top but Stockton keeps moving. Stockton is trying to keep Douglas in close.
Stockton is looking to stand up but Douglas isn't so interested in that idea. Stockton striking from the bottom here. Douglas looking to sit in guard and control but Stockton gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Stockton won't allow Douglas to sweep him here. Stockton trying to control but Douglas is working from the bottom.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Stockton wants to clinch and Douglas counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Douglas sitting in guard, not really doing much. Douglas trying to control but Stockton is working from the bottom. Pete Stockton has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Douglas works over Stockton with some ground and pound from guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Jay Douglas comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Douglas has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
