Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tony Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Christian Paris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Tony Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Christian Paris!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Fedor Mirinova and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jones shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Paris's guard.

Jones is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Jones drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Jones jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Jones is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Paris really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jones. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Paris is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
The fight stays on the outside here - Paris looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Jones drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Paris manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Jones has Paris in his guard.

Paris gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Jones will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Jones is pulling down on Paris's head to control his posture.
Jones manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Jones goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Paris turns into him and now he's in Jones's guard.
Paris must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Tony Jones just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Jones takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Paris wants to clinch.

Tony Jones overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Jones wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Jones wriggles free and stands up.
Paris misses with a takedown

and Jones counters with a shoot takedown. Paris fights it but they end up in guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jones wants to control from the top but Paris keeps moving.
Jones is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Jones gets to his feet - Paris follows without any prompting.

and Paris counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Paris.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Paris is looking to stand up but Jones won't let him.
Jones pulls Paris in close to prevent any damage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jones's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Christian Paris will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Paris wants to control but Jones is having none of it.
Jones throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Paris because Jones loaded up on that one.

Jones wants to finish this one by submission but Paris is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Jones.

Jones working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Paris looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Jones! Submission of the night perhaps?
