PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Tony Spilotro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pat Kloster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Spilotro comes into the arena with Ted Nugent - Stranglehold blaring out of the sound system. Pat Kloster will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tony Spilotro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Pat Kloster!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Gwen Towbar and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kloster fails with a takedown attempt.
Pat Kloster seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Spilotro stuffs the takedown.
Kloster shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Spilotro pinned against the cage. Spilotro gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Tony Spilotro has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pat Kloster.

Kloster gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Spilotro takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Spilotro has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Kloster wants to control but Spilotro is having none of it.
Spilotro can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Kloster is looking to escape.

Spilotro with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Kloster is trying desperately to improve position.
Kloster tries to lock up and control but Spilotro gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Kloster wants to get back to full guard.

Spilotro is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Kloster is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Spilotro pulls his head out easily.

Spilotro might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Spilotro has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Spilotro takes the fight into the clinch.

Kloster is looking to improve his position.
Spilotro thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Kloster is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Spilotro pulls his head out easily.

Kloster is pressing down on Spilotro's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Kloster utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Spilotro thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Kloster shoots and misses

and Spilotro holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Spilotro leaning his opponent against the cage.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Spilotro breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Kloster has his takedown stuffed

and Spilotro counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Kloster!
Spilotro manages to capitalize on a mistake by Kloster to take his back!
Kloster tries to escape the position.

Spilotro has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Kloster has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Kloster breaks Spilotro's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

Spilotro had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Kloster is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Spilotro Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Kloster's back instead.

Kloster defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Spilotro's arms.
Kloster has hold of Spilotro's arm. He needs to escape this position sooner or later but for now he's happy enough to control the position and prevent the submission attempts.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kloster tries to roll but Spilotro sticks to his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Spilotro is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Kloster with him. Kloster is trying to defend but Spilotro has an arm under the chin now! Kloster grimaces and is forced to tap out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:28 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Tony Spilotro!
