Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Paavo Paukku (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Julian Falafel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Julian Falafel told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Paavo Paukku!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Anni Minnemäki and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paukku gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Paukku wants to stand and escape but Falafel is having none of it.

Paukku on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Paukku tries to get out of the position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
I really don't envy Paukku right now.
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Falafel's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

Falafel really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Paukku.
Falafel is trying to stick to Paukku's back but Paukku is turning into Falafel. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Falafel's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Paukku.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That was a close round but I would say that Paavo Paukku will probably get the nod.

Falafel is pushing Paukku up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
