Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ross Pearson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Genki Sudo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ross Pearson looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ross Pearson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sudo throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Pearson was covering up waiting for the punch and Sudo finishes the takedown easily into guard. Sudo would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Sudo wants to control from the top but Pearson keeps moving. Sudo is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Pearson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sudo on the ground. Pearson thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Sudo forces his way into half guard. Sudo wants to control but Pearson is keeping him busy. Pearson punching from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Sudo throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Pearson was covering up waiting for the punch and Sudo finishes the takedown easily into guard. Pearson trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Pearson is breathing heavily. Pearson is looking to stand up but Sudo isn't so interested in that idea. Pearson trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Pearson keeping busy, throwing shots from the bottom. Pearson can't keep his opponent in guard - Sudo advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Pearson misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Sudo trying to control the action but Pearson is working from the bottom. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Pearson wants to get back to full guard but Sudo has passed into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sudo working for a guillotine from mount but Pearson is in no mood to give up. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sudo moves to the back position. Sudo is working for a rear naked choke. Pearson is not defending it well and Sudo has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Pearson refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Pearson's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Genki Sudo!
