Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chris Shepard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Damascus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shepard comes into the arena with Im Made Of Wax, Larry, What Are You Made Of? blaring out of the sound system. Damascus is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by seek n strike - soulfly. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Bruno Lombardi and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Damascus misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Damascus throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Damascus fails in his attempt to clinch.
Shepard fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Shepard is looking to clinch but Damascus is avoiding it.
Shepard avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Shepard gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Shepard jumps guard but Damascus stands there with Shepard around his waist. Shepard gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Damascus wants to break free but Shepard has control.
A bit of stalling here from Shepard.

Damascus is in all sorts of trouble here.

Damascus throws a right hand that Shepard ducks under and follows up with a left that Shepard also avoids with ease.

Damascus has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Shepard is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Shepard shoots in looking for a takedown. Damascus tries to sprawl out of it but Shepard keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Damascus manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Damascus escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

and Shepard counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Damascus displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Shepard.
Damascus pushes Shepard up against the cage in a clinch.
Damascus has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Shepard avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Damascus has had enough of the clinch but Shepard keeps him there for the moment.
