Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rob Terry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Barry Bogan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rob Terry! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Barry Bogan! The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Eliza Hachem and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bogan pushes Terry up against the cage in a clinch. Bogan pulls guard. Terry wants to pass the guard but Bogan is keeping the position. Bogan keeping moving, preventing Terry from controlling successfully. Bogan can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Terry controls the pace. Bogan tries to strike from the bottom.
Terry trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Bogan is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Bogan working a defensive guard here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Terry passes Bogan's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Terry blocks the strikes from Bogan.
Terry is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bogan is looking for a sweep. Terry is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Terry passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Bogan! Terry trying to control but Bogan is having none of it. Bogan is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Terry looking to control but Bogan is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Terry controlling his opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Terry cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Bogan slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Terry throwing shots but Bogan is blocking nicely. It looks like Terry is going to stand back up.
Terry is keen to just control but Bogan is a slippery customer. Bogan is trying to get back to full guard. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Bogan is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Bogan gets full guard. Terry thows a big elbow that misses. Terry stays in close to Bogan's body and controls the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bogan is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Bogan can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Terry controls the pace. Terry pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Bogan is keeping the position for now. Terry is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Terry looking to pass the guard. Terry not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Terry trying to control but Bogan is working from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Bogan wants to get back to his feet but Terry is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Terry passes Bogan's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Bogan looks gassed! Bogan wants to control but Terry is keeping busy.
Terry is controlling the pace.
Terry throwing shots but Bogan is blocking nicely. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Bogan is trying to get back to full guard. Terry wants to control but Bogan is keeping him busy. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Terry darts in trying to clinch and Bogan counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Bogan. Terry tries for a takedown but Bogan manages to get underhooks.

Terry prevents Bogan from breaking the clinch. Bogan has Terry pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Terry manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Terry tries to pull guard but Bogan holds him up against the cage and eventually Terry drops back down to his feet.
Terry taking a breather. Bogan is breathing heavily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Terry keeps control of Bogan as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Bogan goes for a takedown attempt but Terry pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Rob Terry has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Barry Bogan. Terry throws a nice looking combination but Bogan bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Rob Terry seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bogan takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Terry will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Terry tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Bogan just stands there and leans against the cage. Terry leaning against his opponent.

Terry looking for a takedown. Bogan wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Terry has him pressed against the cage. Terry is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Bogan gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Terry jumps guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bogan won't allow Terry to get back to his feet. Bogan works a leg free and moves into half guard. Terry trying to hold on to Bogan's head to control him but Bogan postures up.
Bogan is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Terry has managed to free his arm - good work. Bogan trying to control from Terry's half guard. Terry has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Terry is controlling Bogan's posture. Terry is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Bogan loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Terry tries to land a sweep but no joy. Terry not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Terry lands a jab-cross combination.
It looks like Barry Bogan has been cut. Terry wants to clinch and Bogan counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Terry has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Bogan off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Terry tries to clinch but Bogan moves out of range. Terry is looking to clinch but Bogan is avoiding it.
Bogan shoots for a takedown but Terry saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Terry throws a good cross that connects.
Bogan on the wrong end of a nice jab. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Bogan circles away from the clinch attempt.
Terry closes the distance and clinches. Bogan looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Terry turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rob Terry dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Barry Bogan's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Bogan shoots in looking for a takedown. Terry tries to sprawl out of it but Bogan keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Terry manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Terry fails in his attempt to clinch. Terry lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Rob Terry is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Terry moves into the clinch successfully.
Terry has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Bogan avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Bogan tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Terry smiles and moves away.
Terry tries to close the distance and clinch up but Bogan swats him away and circles back towards the center. Terry fails to land with a series of punches.
Terry tries to clinch so Bogan counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Terry throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Terry is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Bogan in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Bogan wants to control from the top but Terry keeps moving. Terry wants to stand but Bogan is controlling the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Terry wants to sweep here but Bogan controlling him for the moment. Bogan is looking to work some ground and pound but Terry has wrist control.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Terry throws a left and a right that both miss
and Bogan counters by moving into the clinch. Terry fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Terry is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Terry tries for a takedown. No joy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rob Terry. That's going to take a lot out of him. Terry lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Bogan or not. Rob Terry is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Bogan lands a nice shot to the body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bogan tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Terry jumps guard but Bogan stands there with Terry around his waist. Terry gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Bogan pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Terry scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Bogan doesn't seem bothered though. Terry rushes Bogan and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bogan with a knee to the head.
Terry gets control of Bogan's arms and successfully pulls guard. Terry will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Terry pulls Bogan in close to prevent any damage. Bogan looking to pass the guard. Bogan won't allow Terry to sweep him here. Barry Bogan has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Terry looking to control.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Rob Terry. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Terry, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
