Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Eduardo Tamagori! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Michael Kelso! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Luis Engracia and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tamagori throws a left that rocks Kelso and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Tamagori dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Kelso regain composure!
It looks like Michael Kelso has been cut. Tamagori looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Tamagori thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Tamagori wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Kelso, who protects the arm well. Kelso takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Kelso is trying to get back to half guard. Kelso is not content to let Tamagori control the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kelso wants to control but Tamagori postures up.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Kelso is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kelso takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Kelso cracks Tamagori with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Kelso will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Kelso shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Kelso prevents Tamagori from improving his position. Tamagori actively working from the bottom here. Tamagori is in trouble now - Kelso has advanced to mount! Tamagori wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.

Kelso is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Tamagori defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Kelso is looking for the choke from the back position but Tamagori is controlling his hands well. Kelso looks gassed! Tamagori is trying to break free.
Tamagori is working hard here to advance position. Well, with Kelso on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Tamagori is tapping out... Can he escape the position? Kelso is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Tamagori is defending well though. Kelso let's go of the attempt for now. Kelso wants to control but Tamagori is keeping busy.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. A right-left combo lands from Tamagori. Tamagori swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Kelso counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kelso wants to pass the guard but Tamagori is keeping the position. Kelso drops back looking for a leg! Tamagori is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Tamagori manages to kick Kelso off! Kelso jumps back into Tamagori's guard. Tamagori had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Kelso is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Tamagori Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Kelso's back instead. Tamagori doesn't have the hooks in and Kelso manages to turn into his guard.
Tamagori is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Kelso trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Tamagori misses with a straight right. Tamagori tests Kelso's chin there with a solid looking shot. Kelso throws a combination that misses and Tamagori counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Kelso avoids a punch combination nicely.
Tamagori comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Kelso steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Tamagori.

Eduardo Tamagori is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Kelso throws a shot from downtown. Tamagori moves away and avoids it. Tamagori bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Kelso's head. Tamagori ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Tamagori moves out of range of the strikes. Tamagori lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Tamagori throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Kelso. Eduardo Tamagori is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Tamagori misses with a two punch combination.
Kelso takes a body punch but keeps moving. Tamagori throws a hook to the side of Kelso's head but Kelso sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tamagori rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kelso moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Tamagori lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Kelso backs up against the cage.
A big right from Tamagori misses. Kelso shoots in for a takedown but Tamagori shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Eduardo Tamagori seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Tamagori throws a jab but it's blocked by Kelso. Kelso misses with a jab, cross combination.

Kelso changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Tamagori tries to avoid it but Kelso manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Tamagori to the ground. Tamagori escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kelso darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Kelso is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Tamagori gets full guard. Tamagori wants to sweep here but Kelso controlling him for the moment. Kelso pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Tamagori is keeping the position for now. Tamagori looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Tamagori is on top in guard.

Tamagori fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kelso manages to avoid it. Tamagori throws a shot to the body.

Kelso shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Tamagori counters with a right hand to the body. Tamagori changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Kelso drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Tamagori looking for a sweep. Not yet Tamagori, not yet. Kelso drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Kelso seems to have locked his on tight now - Tamagori screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Kelso, as he picks up the win!
