Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Diego Barbosa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Damian Corway (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Barbosa is coming into this fight with a significant injury, which will no doubt have an effect on his cardio. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Diego Barbosa! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Damian Corway! The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Leandro Rodrigues and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Corway is looking to slow Barbosa down with leg kicks. Barbosa is breathing heavily. Corway avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Barbosa dives in and grabs Corway's left leg, looking for a takedown. Corway pushes down on Barbosa's head and hops out. Corway shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Corway showed some decent athleticism there. Corway is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Barbosa trying to control but Corway postures up.
Corway controlling the pace.
That's one minute gone in the round. Corway working the head and body with strikes. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Corway tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Barbosa. Barbosa is in trouble now - Corway has advanced to mount! Corway lands a big elbow. Corway really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Barbosa. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Corway with a couple of short strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Corway working the ground and pound effectively.

Corway controlling the position easily from mount. Corway is standing up, even though he is in mount. Corway looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Corway moves into the clinch successfully.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Corway pulls guard successfully.
Barbosa trying to control the position from guard on top but Corway is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Barbosa stopping the sweep attempt from Corway. Barbosa is fighting to break Corway's control of his arms but Corway is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Corway is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Corway has his foot on Barbosa's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Barbosa works his way back into a safe position though. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Corway can do anything to dispel that myth. Corway pushes Barbosa off and gets back to his feet.
Barbosa throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Corway's waist but Corway gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Barbosa off to one side. Corway scores a takedown into full mount! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Corway content just to control the position here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Damian Corway dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Barbosa gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Corway. Corway closes the distance and pushes Barbosa back into the cage. Corway pulls guard. Corway throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Corway is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Barbosa is aware though and is defending well. Barbosa postures up.
Corway tries to land a sweep but no joy. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Barbosa got a little sloppy there for a moment and Corway has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Barbosa has managed to get both his arms back between Corway's legs - danger averted.
That's one minute gone in the round. Corway pushes Barbosa off and gets back to his feet.
Corway shoots in and drives through. Barbosa sprawls well. Barbosa throws a hook to the side of Corway's head but Corway sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Corway fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Barbosa, pushing him back against the cage. Corway breaks the clinch.
Barbosa checks a leg kick. Barbosa with a lazy takedown attempt and Corway counters with a takedown into side control. Corway landing strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Barbosa is looking to reverse the position. Corway connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Barbosa some visible discomfort.
Barbosa is trying to get back to half guard. Barbosa is being controlled here. Corway thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Corway wants to control but Barbosa is keeping him busy. Barbosa is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Corway off and has taken his back!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Barbosa lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Barbosa.
Barbosa tries to get the hooks in deep but Corway pushed the leg off. Corway rolls, trying to escape but Barbosa keeps control of the position.
Corway tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Barbosa manages to capitalize on a mistake by Corway to take his back! That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Poor strikes thrown by Barbosa there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Corway keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
You get the feeling that Corway really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Barbosa trying to control but Corway is having none of it. Corway tries to reverse the position but Barbosa maintains control. Corway tries to lock up and control but Barbosa gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Damian Corway showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!
Corway fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Barbosa sprawls well initially but Corway persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Corway content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Barbosa has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Corway is working away from the top position though. Corway performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Corway wants to pass to mount but Barbosa is defending the position. Barbosa is defending against the submission attempts here by Corway.
Barbosa is trying to stand.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Corway drives through and clinches with Barbosa against the cage.
Corway breaks from the clinch.
Corway changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Barbosa looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Barbosa prevents Corway from improving position. You can see the frustration on Barbosa's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Barbosa takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Damian Corway has got the better of the ground game so far. Corway looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. A control attempt from Barbosa but he's now mounted!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Barbosa tries to hold on but Corway postures up. Corway content just to control the position here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Barbosa taking shots to the head. Corway tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Barbosa is looking to improve his position but Corway isn't that keen on the idea.
And that's the end of the fight! Damian Corway comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Corway has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
