Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Connor Wong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hakkon Hakkonson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wong comes to the cage accompanied by "Bounce (remix)" by Timbaland. Hakkonson has chosen Blashyrk as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Connor Wong! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hakkon Hakkonson! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Gregory Folan and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wong scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Hakkonson takes one to the chin there. Wong closes the distance and pushes Hakkonson back into the cage. Hakkonson tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
A short left from Wong. Wong is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Wong gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Wong is trying to control the action in half guard but Hakkonson is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Hakkonson moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Hakkonson keeping moving, preventing Wong from controlling successfully. Hakkonson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Wong defends it easily. Wong lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wong stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hakkonson swivels though and keeps the full guard. Wong postures up in Hakkonson's guard and throws a big left but Hakkonson blocks it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hakkonson working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Wong has passed into half guard!
Hakkonson looks gassed! Wong trying to control from Hakkonson's half guard. Hakkonson has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Wong stands up over Hakkonson, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Wong wants to control from the top but Hakkonson keeps moving. Hakkonson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Wong is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Wong wants to control from the top but Hakkonson keeps moving.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wong content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Wong trying to control the position from guard on top but Hakkonson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Wong drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Hakkonson dives on top into guard. Hakkonson has gone for a leg lock! Wong slips out almost immediately though and dives into Hakkonson's guard. Wong stands and throws Hakkonson's legs to the side, diving into side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wong trying to control the action but Hakkonson is working from the bottom. Wong looks up at the clock and then as Hakkonson takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Wong smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
You can see the frustration on Hakkonson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Wong scoring with punches and elbows. Wong passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Hakkonson! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hakkonson tries to keep at a distance but Wong has taken the fight into the clinch. Wong lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Hakkonson backwards. Wong lands an uppercut. Wong manages to pull guard.
Wong might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Wong is trying to control the position but Hakkonson postures up. Hakkonson throwing strikes from guard but Wong blocks nicely. Wong manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Wong with shots to the head and body - Hakkonson looks very uncomfortable down there. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hakkonson is breathing heavily. Wong is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Hakkonson can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Hakkonson is bucking up trying to escape but Wong cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Wong unloading with bombs! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Wong is landing with some decent strikes but Hakkonson is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Wong looking to control and managing it successfully. Wong landing strikes from the mount and Hakkonson is in trouble! Wong is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Hakkonson is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Hakkonson flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Wong anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Hakkonson and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Wong slips an arm under Hakkonson chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Wong has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Wong is squeezing on Hakkonson like an anaconda would it's prey. Hakkonson fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:03 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Connor Wong!
