The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Butts swats away the attempt to clinch by Johnson.
Johnson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Butts swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Butts throws a hook but Johnson avoids it easily.

Butts shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Butts has gone for a leg lock! Johnson slips out almost immediately though and dives into Butts's guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Butts can do anything to dispel that myth.

Butts working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Johnson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Johnson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Johnson throws a strike but Butts rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Butts is landing with some decent strikes but Johnson is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Butts closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Butts looks up at the clock and then as Johnson takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Butts smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The referee warns Johnson that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Johnson tries to lock up and control but Butts gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Butts pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Butts postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Johnson in real trouble here! The ref calls for Johnson to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
