Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Adam Beasley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Wade Acres!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beasley keeps the fight on the outside.
Beasley tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Acres swivels and escapes.
Beasley shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Acres as he avoids it easily.
Beasley dodges the punch combination from Acres.
Beasley just misses with a punch to the body.

Beasley shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Beasley showed some decent athleticism there.
Acres keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Acres has one foot on Beasley's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Beasley looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Acres is fending him off so far but Beasley persists. Nope, Acres circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Adam Beasley. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A nice combination there by Acres.
Beasley swats away the attempt to clinch by Acres.
Acres tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Beasley swivels and escapes.

Beasley gets caught flat footed, as Acres shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Acres has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Beasley is proving hard to escape from.
Beasley striking off his back but it's not causing Acres any problems.
Acres wants to stand and escape but instead Beasley has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Beasley slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Acres struggling a bit here.
Acres really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Beasley. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Beasley wants to control but Acres is keeping him busy.
Beasley is breathing heavily.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
You can see the frustration on Acres's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Acres is not content to let Beasley control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Acres throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!

Beasley clinches.

Beasley pulls Acres into guard.

Beasley is looking for a triangle but Acres pushes his legs off easily.

Acres trying to control the position from guard on top but Beasley is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Beasley is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Beasley uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Beasley checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Acres shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Beasley but Beasley pushes him off and we're back to square one.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Acres will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Beasley keeps the fight on the outside.

Beasley closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Beasley lands in his opponent's guard.

Beasley gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Beasley scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Beasley works his way into side control.
Beasley is looking to take a break and control but Acres is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
You can see the frustration on Acres's face as Beasley controls the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Adam Beasley dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Acres misses with a jab, cross combination.
Acres throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Beasley gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Beasley looking to control.
Beasley is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Beasley with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Beasley is tying to control. Acres wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Beasley escapes and gets back to his feet.
Acres throws a half hearted mid kick.

Acres closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Acres lands in his opponent's guard.
Beasley is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Acres connects with a couple of short punches.
Adam Beasley overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Acres pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Beasley is keeping the position for now.
Acres wants to stand and escape but instead Beasley has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Beasley connects with a nice short shot to Acres's temple.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Acres can do anything to dispel that myth.
Beasley is trying to control the action in half guard but Acres is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Beasley seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Beasley stops Acres from getting back to his feet.
Acres wants to stand back up but Beasley manages to pass into side control.
Beasley wants to control but Acres is keeping him busy.
Beasley tries to stand but Acres is controlling his head.
Beasley scores with punches from side control.
Acres gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Beasley is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Acres is surviving well by controlling Beasley's body position as best he can.
Beasley wants to control the pace but Acres is squirming around nicely.
Acres tries to improve his position but instead Beasley has taken his back!
Beasley throwing strikes from the back - he gets a warning from the referee for striking the back of the head but all these shots are hurting Acres!

Acres wants to escape the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Adam Beasley dominated that second round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


A solid leg kick lands there for Acres.
Beasley is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Acres.
Beasley wants to clinch up but Acres keeps it at a distance.
Left hook, right uppercut from Acres.
Wade Acres seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Acres closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Acres lands in his opponent's guard.
Beasley keeping moving, preventing Acres from controlling successfully.
Beasley is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Acres tries to stand but Beasley is controlling from the bottom.
Acres trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Acres wants to stand but Beasley is controlling his posture from full guard.
Beasley not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Beasley is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Beasley keeps the fight on the outside.

Acres looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Beasley trying to control but Acres postures up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Beasley landing strikes from the bottom.

Beasley throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Acres trying to control from Beasley's half guard. Beasley has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Beasley is on top in guard.
Beasley in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Beasley cracks Acres with a solid left hand.
Beasley showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Beasley wants to control from the top but Acres keeps moving.
Acres being controlled here, momentarily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Beasley missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Acres has momentary wrist control but Beasley slips an elbow through the middle.
Beasley stops Acres from standing up.
Beasley postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Acres keeping moving, preventing Beasley from controlling successfully.
Beasley is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Acres is looking to stand back up but Beasley counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Acres.

And that's the end of the fight!
Wade Acres comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Beasley has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
