Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dzevad Poturak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Skwisgaar Skwigelf (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Poturak comes to the cage accompanied by Janičar. Skwigelf has chosen Bloodrocuted as his entrance music. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dzevad Poturak! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Skwisgaar Skwigelf! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Trevor Gratis and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A head kick misses from Skwigelf. Poturak drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Poturak has gone for a leg lock! Skwigelf slips out almost immediately though and dives into Poturak's guard. Skwigelf wants to stand but Poturak is controlling his posture from full guard. Skwigelf avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Poturak has his foot on Skwigelf's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Skwigelf works his way back into a safe position though. Poturak has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Skwigelf can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Poturak had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Skwigelf defends it easily. Poturak is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Skwigelf defends well. Skwigelf decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Poturak, up you get! Poturak misses with a takedown attempt - Skwigelf sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Skwigelf jabbing away but nothing is landing. Skwigelf throws a front kick aimed at Poturak's knee but Poturak avoids it well. Skwigelf jabbing away but nothing is landing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Poturak is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Skwigelf's half guard. Poturak seems to be looking for submissions.

Poturak is breathing heavily. Skwigelf wants to control but Poturak is keeping busy and won't allow it. Poturak is working for a kimura here but Skwigelf manages to reverse the position and he's now in Poturak's guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Poturak takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Poturak tries to buck Skwigelf off but Skwigelf is having none of it. Skwigelf has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Skwigelf looks to land a left hand but Poturak moved out of range nicely. Poturak slips a straight right by Skwigelf. Poturak looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Skwigelf! Skwigelf is wriggling around trying to escape.
Poturak looking for a guillotine from mount but Skwigelf is having none of it. Poturak jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Skwigelf is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Skwigelf and Poturak has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Skwigelf can't do much from the bottom here. Poturak goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Skwigelf rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Poturak's guard! Nice work there by Skwigelf! Poturak isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Skwigelf stacks Poturak on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Skwigelf! Poturak is trying to work for a sweep but Skwigelf has mounted him! Skwigelf controlling the position easily from mount. Poturak is squirming around, avoiding Skwigelf's attempts to control the action. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dzevad Poturak dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Poturak drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Poturak shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Skwigelf misses with a low kick. Horrible takedown by Poturak or perhaps it was just good defense by Skwigelf which made him look bad. Skwigelf walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Poturak checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Skwigelf keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dzevad Poturak. That's going to take a lot out of him. Poturak scores with a takedown into Skwigelf's guard. Skwigelf manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Poturak manages to get himself to full guard.
Poturak is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Skwigelf is aware though and is defending well. Poturak escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Skwigelf gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Poturak has a closed guard, preventing Skwigelf from standing up. Skwigelf must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's one minute gone in the round. Poturak is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Skwigelf defends well. Poturak working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Skwigelf has passed into half guard!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Poturak is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Skwigelf's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Skwigelf's back! Skwigelf trying to control the hands but Poturak breaks the grip. Poturak tightening his grip on Skwigelf, looking for the choke. Skwigelf turns into Poturak and is now in his guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Skwigelf distracts Poturak with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Skwigelf wants to stand but Poturak has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Poturak is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Skwigelf defends well. Poturak has a closed guard, preventing Skwigelf from standing up. Skwigelf sitting in guard, not really doing much. Skwigelf trying to control but Poturak is working from the bottom.

Skwigelf looking to control but Poturak is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Dzevad Poturak overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Poturak is trying desperately to improve position. Skwigelf tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Poturak is working to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Skwigelf looking to control but Poturak is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Skwisgaar Skwigelf will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Poturak is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Skwigelf is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Skwigelf is trying to control Poturak's posture but Poturak avoids it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Poturak tries for a kimura but Skwigelf is defending well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Skwigelf is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Poturak tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Poturak has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Poturak tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Both fighters are breathing heavily. You can see the frustration on Skwigelf's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Skwigelf wants to get back to his feet. Poturak working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Skwigelf manages to work his way to half guard, despite Poturak's best efforts. Poturak wants to work for an arm triangle but Skwigelf is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
