PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Paul Smart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Basheer Saleh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smart comes into the arena with Billy Talent - Red Flag blaring out of the sound system. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Basheer Saleh!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, William Peck and Elvis Blanc.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smart scores with a one two! Saleh had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

It looks like Basheer Saleh has been cut.
Smart throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Saleh.

Saleh shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Smart has one foot on Saleh's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
No joy there for Smart, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
A jab from Smart does it's job there.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Saleh moves away from the strike by Smart.
Smart scores with a jab to the jaw.
Smart throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Saleh shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Saleh is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Saleh extends the arm and Smart is forced to tap!
