PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between John Peters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Keizou Ishizaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ishizaki has chosen Japanese Rap as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Peters!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Keizou Ishizaki!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Chris Downing and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ishizaki leaves Peters with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Ishizaki tries for a takedown but Peters circles away easily

and Peters counters with a single leg into guard. Ishizaki didn't expect that.

Ishizaki not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Ishizaki looking to hit a scissor sweep but Peters is one step ahead there.
Peters passes into half guard.

Peters looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ishizaki has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Peters is working away from the top position though.
Ishizaki is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Peters thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Ishizaki tries for a takedown but Peters circles away easily

and Peters decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Ishizaki's guard.

Peters stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ishizaki swivels though and keeps the full guard.

and Peters counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
John Peters has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Keizou Ishizaki.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Peters drops back looking for a leg! Ishizaki is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Ishizaki manages to kick Peters off! Peters jumps back into Ishizaki's guard.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Peters, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
