Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jaylon Qaid (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Barney Stinson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Barney Stinson!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Lou da Vinci and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Qaid closes this distance looking for a takedown but Stinson circles away.
Qaid tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Qaid feints and as Stinson raises his hands in defense, Qaid changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Stinson wants to sweep here but Qaid controlling him for the moment.
Stinson pulls Qaid in close to his closed guard and prevents Qaid from doing any damage or advancing position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Stinson can do anything to dispel that myth.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Qaid trying to control but Stinson is working from the bottom.
Qaid not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Stinson has a closed guard, preventing Qaid from standing up.
Qaid throwing strikes from guard but Stinson blocks nicely.
Stinson pulls Qaid in close to prevent any damage.

Qaid is really struggling to control Stinson but he's trying to hold on to the position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Stinson pulls Qaid in close to prevent any damage.

Stinson wants to stand and escape but Qaid is having none of it.

Stinson lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Qaid!

Stinson wants to control the pace but Qaid is squirming around nicely.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Qaid sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Stinson looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Stinson is trying to control the action in half guard but Qaid is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Qaid tries to roll over but Stinson keeps him under control.
Qaid wants to get back to his feet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Stinson stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jaylon Qaid will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


The fight stays on the outside here - Qaid looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Qaid shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Stinson as he avoids it easily.
Qaid swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

It looks like Jaylon Qaid has been cut.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Stinson is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Qaid!

Stinson breaks from Qaid's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Qaid working to try and regain half guard.
Qaid tries to lock up and control but Stinson gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Stinson tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Stinson is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Qaid has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Qaid!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Stinson utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Stinson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Qaid's guard.
Stinson slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Qaid tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Stinson controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Qaid wants to stand up but Stinson is controlling him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Barney Stinson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The cut man is working on Jaylon Qaid's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

and Stinson counters with a shoot takedown. Qaid fights it but they end up in guard.
Qaid wants to sweep but no luck.
Qaid keeping moving, preventing Stinson from controlling successfully.

Stinson gets to his feet. Qaid looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

and Stinson decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Qaid's guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Stinson wants to control from the top but Qaid keeps moving.
Stinson is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Stinson looking to sit in guard and control but Qaid gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Qaid won't allow Stinson to sweep him here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Stinson looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Qaid has picked Stinson up and slammed him! Stinson can't keep hold of the triangle and Qaid manages to pass to side control!

Qaid has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Stinson moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Jaylon Qaid seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Stinson counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Stinson looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Stinson gets to his feet. Qaid looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Qaid throws a shot from downtown. Stinson moves away and avoids it.
Stinson misses with a few strikes there.

Qaid closes the distance but Stinson moves to the side

and Stinson counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Qaid!

Stinson stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Qaid ducks under a wild hook from Stinson.
Horrible takedown by Qaid or perhaps it was just good defense by Stinson which made him look bad.
Qaid tries to close the distance and clinch up but Stinson swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Qaid gets caught flat footed, as Stinson shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Qaid is looking to stand up but Stinson isn't so interested in that idea.

Qaid is working an open guard so Stinson takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Stinson has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Qaid looks to land a combination but Stinson avoids it well.
Qaid tries to clinch but Stinson moves away
and Stinson counters with a two punch combo.
Qaid rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Stinson moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

And that's the end of the fight!
Barney Stinson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Stinson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
