Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, mauricio padilha! The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Mauricio Rocha and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! padilha fails with a takedown attempt from distance. McAferty misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. James McAferty seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. padilha moves out of range as McAferty throws a body kick.
padilha shoots in for a takedown and gets it. It looks like padilha is going to stand back up.
McAferty wants to improve his position but padilha is controlling well.
padilha thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
That's one minute gone in the round. McAferty works his way to full guard. Good work. McAferty looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
padilha is looking to work some ground and pound but McAferty has wrist control. padilha trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. McAferty is looking for a triangle but padilha pushes his legs off easily.
McAferty manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
That's two minutes gone in the round. padilha is squirming around, avoiding McAferty's attempts to control the action. McAferty jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but padilha manages to avoid the submission attempt. padilha struggling a bit here. padilha is trying to improve his position. McAferty thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. McAferty tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. McAferty is breathing heavily. padilha can't do much from the bottom here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. padilha tries to buck McAferty off but McAferty is having none of it. McAferty is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down padilha's shoulder. That is not cool. padilha prevents McAferty from moving into mount. padilha can't do much from the bottom here. padilha really doesn't want to stay on the ground with McAferty. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. padilha is looking for a sweep. McAferty working the ground and pound but padilha is defending the strikes.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. McAferty motions for padilha to come forward. McAferty throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. padilha shoots and misses and McAferty counters with a takedown into side control. padilha struggling a bit here. McAferty wants to control but padilha is keeping him busy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McAferty tries for a kimura but padilha is defending well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. McAferty working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. padilha is looking to reverse the position. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Sloppy strikes there by McAferty. padilha struggling a bit here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
James McAferty dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
McAferty shoots in but padilha avoids the takedown attempt easily. McAferty tries for a takedown but padilha circles away easily and padilha decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in McAferty's guard. McAferty is trying to keep padilha in close.
padilha wants to stand but McAferty is controlling his posture from full guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. McAferty tries to strike from the bottom.
McAferty wants to sweep here but padilha controlling him for the moment. McAferty is working hard here to advance position. McAferty lands a couple of shots from the bottom.
McAferty is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
That's two minutes gone in the round. padilha trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. McAferty is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. McAferty passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for padilha! padilha tries to hold on but McAferty pushes him away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McAferty tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. McAferty working for a submission but padilha is keeping him at bay. padilha is trying desperately to improve position. McAferty content just to control the position here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. McAferty with shots to the head and body - padilha looks very uncomfortable down there. padilha is trying desperately to improve position. A nice elbow there by McAferty. McAferty has isolated one of padilha's arms. padilha looking to fight him off but McAferty twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
