Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, CJ Riley! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tim Robinson! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Seu Braga and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Riley ducks under a wild hook from Robinson. Robinson showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Riley.
Riley ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Robinson moves away. Riley pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Riley misses with a jab, cross combination.
Jab from Robinson. Robinson goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Riley wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. CJ Riley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Riley fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Robinson avoids the body shot from Riley.
That's one minute gone in the round. Riley takes a shot right to the bread basket. Robinson tries a head kick but it misses.
Riley swings and misses with a hook to the body.
The fight stays on the outside here - Robinson looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Riley fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Robinson manages to avoid it. Robinson avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Robinson takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Riley shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Robinson sprawls well. Robinson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Riley gets slowly back to his feet. Robinson lands a nice looking kick to the body. Riley takes a step back to recover. Robinson blocks a low kick nicely. Riley misses with a body shot.
Robinson is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Robinson takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Riley checks a leg kick. Riley is looking to wear down Robinson with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. A big right from Riley misses. Robinson takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Riley cracks a nice hook into Robinson's ribs. Riley fails to land the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for CJ Riley. That's going to take a lot out of him. Riley turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Riley lands a nice looking body shot.
Riley misses with a wild body shot. Robinson lands a head kick. Riley smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Riley lands a nice hook to Robinson's body. Robinson takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Robinson throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

and Robinson connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Robinson takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
CJ Riley dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Riley scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Tim Robinson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. A jab from Riley finds it's way through Robinson's defenses. Riley feints and as Robinson raises his hands in defense, Riley changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Riley throwing strikes from guard but Robinson blocks nicely. Riley trying to control but Robinson is working from the bottom. Riley forces his way into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Riley working the head and body with strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round. Riley wants to pass to mount but Robinson is defending the position. Riley looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Robinson with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Riley thows a huge punch but Robinson dodges it nicely.
Riley is working for a submission of some sort.
Riley has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Robinson defend it? Riley steps over the head and cranks it - Robinson is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Riley!
