Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Billy Reed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter Dixon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Billy Reed!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Peter Dixon!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Anthony Taglia and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dixon slips a jab from Reed.
Dixon ducks under a wild hook from Reed.
Dixon lands a body shot.
Reed throws a low kick but it's checked well by Dixon.
Dixon slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Reed throws a series of punches but Dixon avoids them all with ease.
Dixon scores with a punch to the head.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Dixon checks a leg kick.
Reed ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Dixon moves away.

Dixon clinches up with Reed and pushes him back against the cage.
Reed is trying to drag Dixon to the mat but Dixon just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Reed is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Dixon lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Reed or not.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Dixon.

Reed is fighting off a takedown attempt but Dixon is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Reed to the mat. Reed regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Dixon is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Dixon thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Dixon is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Reed keeping moving, preventing Dixon from controlling successfully.

Reed working for submissions but it's allowed Dixon to get to half guard.
Dixon perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Dixon prevents Reed from improving his position.

Reed looking for submissions off his back.

Dixon is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Reed has managed to free his arm - good work.
Dixon is thwarting Reed's attempts to control the position.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Dixon looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Reed is refusing to be controlled, as Dixon sits in half guard.
Dixon tries to pass to full mount but Reed defends it.

Dixon is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Reed doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Dixon.
Dixon is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Reed is working to get back to half guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Dixon is trying to take his opponent's back.
Dixon takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Reed wants to control but Dixon is having none of it.
Reed is working to get back to half guard.

Dixon with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Peter Dixon dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Reed throws a jab when Dixon was well out of range.
Dixon avoids a punch combination nicely.
Reed closes the distance and clinches up with Dixon, looking for a takedown. Reed pushes Dixon against the cage but Dixon circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Billy Reed seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dixon blocks a head kick by Reed.

Dixon shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Reed is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Reed is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Dixon is aware though and is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Reed looking for a guillotine here but Dixon defends easily.
Dixon must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Dixon drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Reed manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Dixon has Reed in his guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Reed wants to get up but he can't break Dixon's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Reed trying to control but Dixon is working from the bottom.
Dixon looking to hit a scissor sweep but Reed is one step ahead there.
Reed wants to control from the top but Dixon keeps moving.

Dixon is working an open guard so Reed takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Dixon is looking to clinch.

Reed throws a looping overhand right but Dixon ducks down to avoid it.

Dixon tries to clinch up but Reed circles away and keeps his distance.
Dixon displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Reed throws out the jab.

Dixon has taken the fight to the clinch.
Reed tries for a takedown but Dixon manages to get underhooks.

Dixon has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Reed clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Reed looking very determined here, making life difficult for Dixon.
Dixon keeps control of the position as Reed tries to break free.
Dixon doesn't have the hooks in and Reed manages to turn into his guard.

Reed wants to pass the guard but Dixon is keeping the position.

Dixon drops back, looking for a kneebar! Reed looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Reed looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Reed!
Reed in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Peter Dixon showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round!


A big left from Reed misses.
Dixon takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Reed circles away from the clinch attempt.
Billy Reed is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Dixon misses with a low kick as Reed jumps back.
A big right from Dixon misses.
Nice uppercut lands for Reed. That snapped Dixon's head back.
Dixon throws a series of punches but Reed avoids them all with ease.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Reed!


It looks like Peter Dixon has been cut.
Dixon tries to clinch there but Reed circles away.
Dixon misses the shot to the body.
Reed tries to close the distance and clinch but Dixon swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Reed throws a jab but it's blocked by Dixon.
Dixon takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Reed throws a low kick but Dixon avoids it.
Dixon ducks under a wild hook from Reed.
Reed slips a jab from Dixon.

Reed connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Dixon's hands.

Reed throws a right and a left that Dixon avoids nicely.

and Dixon counters by clinching up.

Dixon drops down looking for an ankle pick but Reed pulls his leg out and moves away.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Reed is on top in guard.
Reed postures up in Dixon's guard and throws a big left but Dixon blocks it.
Reed is looking to stand up but Dixon won't let him.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Reed throws a strike but Dixon rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Dixon advances position into side control!
Dixon is looking to take a break and control but Reed is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Reed manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Reed is pressing down on Dixon's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Reed keeping moving, preventing Dixon from controlling successfully.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Reed keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
