Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Erik Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Reed Andrews and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Triton misses the jab.
Johnson uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Triton.

Johnson does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Triton throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Triton throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Johnson.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Johnson slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Triton gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Johnson to score an easy takedown into full guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Johnson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Triton takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Triton throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Johnson.

Triton lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Johnson circles away quickly and effectively.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Johnson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Johnson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Johnson tries to score a body lock takedown but Triton shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Triton pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Erik Johnson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Triton wants to get back to his feet but Johnson is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Johnson is trying to trip Triton. He has hold of a leg but Triton is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Johnson persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Erik Johnson is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Erik Johnson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Johnson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
