Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between James Lindenberger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Leben (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Leben drops Lindenberger with a beautiful combination! Lindenberger stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Leben is looking for the KO!
It looks like James Lindenberger has been cut. Lindenberger slips a jab and a cross from Leben.
Lindenberger tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Leben is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Lindenberger closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Leben did well to prevent Lindenberger getting side control. Leben is looking to control Lindenberger's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Leben avoid being mounted? The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Well, if Lindenberger is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Leben is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Leben is pressing down on Lindenberger's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Leben wants to stand but Lindenberger is controlling the position. Leben throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Leben looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Leben had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Lindenberger is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Leben Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Lindenberger's back instead. Lindenberger might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Leben misses with a punch to the head. Leben looks gassed! Leben patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here?

Lindenberger is trying to get back to his feet but Leben has full control of the position and if anything, Lindenberger has just worked his way into a worse spot. Lindenberger covering up well and avoiding damage. Lindenberger wriggles onto his back under a barage of strikes. Lindenberger has given up his back here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Lindenberger wants to get back to his feet. Leben doesn't have the hooks in and Lindenberger manages to turn into his guard.
Leben has a closed guard, preventing Lindenberger from standing up. Lindenberger got a little sloppy there for a moment and Leben has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lindenberger has managed to get both his arms back between Leben's legs - danger averted. Lindenberger sitting in guard here, content to control. Leben looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Chris Leben dominated that round. The cut man is working on James Lindenberger's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Lindenberger tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Leben swivels and escapes. Leben blocks a head kick by Lindenberger.
Leben tries to clinch but Lindenberger is having none of it. Lindenberger walks into a straight right hand from Leben. Leben with a poor takedown and Lindenberger counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Leben gets back to full guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Leben holds on and takes a little breather. Lindenberger is stalling in the full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Leben wants to sweep but no luck. Leben is looking for a triangle but Lindenberger pushes his legs off easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Leben is trying to control the position but Lindenberger postures up.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Lindenberger throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Leben has his takedown stuffed and Lindenberger counters by moving into the clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Leben tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
James Lindenberger has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chris Leben. Lindenberger unloads a knee to the mid-section. Lindenberger throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Leben blocks it with crossed arms. Leben jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Lindenberger walks away with a smile on his face. Leben gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Lindenberger throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. James Lindenberger is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Lindenberger takes a swing at Leben's ribcage but misses. Lindenberger clinches up with Leben and pushes him back against the cage. Lindenberger keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Leben's efforts to push away. Lindenberger managing to block the knees to the body from Leben.

Leben tries for a takedown but Lindenberger circles away easily and Lindenberger counters with a single leg into guard. Leben didn't expect that. Leben has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Lindenberger can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Leben wants to sweep here but Lindenberger controlling him for the moment. Leben is working an open guard so Lindenberger takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Leben throws a series of punches but Lindenberger avoids them all with ease. Lindenberger drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Leben wants to control but Lindenberger postures up. Lindenberger trying to control the position but Leben is working away. Leben can't do much from the bottom here. Lindenberger remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lindenberger working away. Leben is trying to get back to half guard. Leben can't do much from the bottom here. Leben tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Lindenberger wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Leben with a poor takedown and Lindenberger counters with a takedown into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Leben is trying to get back to his feet. Lindenberger decides to stand up, so the ref orders Leben to his feet. Leben looks to clinch and Lindenberger counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Leben's guard now. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Leben trying to keep a closed guard but Lindenberger is proving a slippery customer.
Leben might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Lindenberger kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Leben has a closed guard, preventing Lindenberger from standing up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Leben pushes Lindenberger off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Leben scores with a nice right hand.
Leben swats away the attempt to clinch by Lindenberger. Leben works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Lindenberger pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Leben has his takedown stuffed and Lindenberger counters with a thumping low kick. Lindenberger darts in and clinches Leben up against the cage. Lindenberger is pushing Leben up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Lindenberger wants a takedown.
Still in the clinch, Leben scores with a nice short uppercut. Lindenberger gets underhooks to prevent Leben's takedown attempt.
James Lindenberger has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chris Leben. Lindenberger has hold of one of Leben's legs. Leben is fighting the takedown attempt but Lindenberger gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Leben has a closed guard, preventing Lindenberger from standing up.
