Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Angel Soto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Saikosis Killzie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Angel Soto had a look across the ring there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Angel Soto!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Saikosis Killzie!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Soto lands a jab to the nose.
Soto tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Killzie paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Killzie keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Soto just misses with a punch to the body.
Soto defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Killzie.
Killzie tries to close the distance and clinch but Soto swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Soto darts in trying to clinch

and Killzie moves into the clinch.

Killzie with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Soto jumps guard but Killzie stands there with Soto around his waist. Soto gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Killzie has Soto pressed against the ropes, preventing Soto from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Soto jumps guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Soto is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Killzie slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Soto looking to hit a scissor sweep but Killzie is one step ahead there.
Killzie really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Soto. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Killzie postures up.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Soto is on top in guard.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Killzie keeping moving, preventing Soto from controlling successfully.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Killzie working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Soto.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Soto in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Angel Soto dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Killzie wants to clinch but Soto slips to the side
and Soto counters with a nice body shot.
Angel Soto is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Soto tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Killzie paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Soto throws a series of strikes that have Killzie backpedaling.
Soto misses with a jab to the body
and Killzie counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Killzie lands a high kick!
Killzie is looking to clinch.

Soto shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Killzie as he jumps to the side.
Soto thows a body shot but no joy.
Soto shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Killzie but Killzie pushes him off and we're back to square one.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Soto.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Angel Soto. That's going to take a lot out of him.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Killzie tries to clinch there but Soto circles away.
Killzie leaves Soto with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Killzie's corner calls for a 1-2. Killzie obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Soto circles away from the clinch attempt.
Soto misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Soto circles away from the clinch attempt.
Soto looks to score with a jab to the body but Killzie is just out of range.
Killzie tries to close the distance and clinch but Soto swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Soto avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Soto misses with an uppercut. Killzie saw that one coming.
Soto misses with a body punch
and Killzie counters with a nice body kick.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Soto is defended easily by Killzie.
Soto keeps the fight on the outside.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Saikosis Killzie showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Soto shoots in for a double leg but Killzie sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Soto throws a left and a right that both miss
and Killzie counters with a nice uppercut.
Killzie tries to close the distance and clinch but Soto swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
The fighters circling - Soto throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Killzie shoots in for a takedown but Soto shows good takedown defense.
Nice uppercut there from Killzie.

Killzie tries to clinch up.

Killzie fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Soto, pushing him back against the ropes.
Soto can't get the takedown.
Killzie tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Soto is working for a takedown up against the ropes. He can't get it on this occasion though.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Angel Soto. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Killzie lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

Killzie breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Soto wants to clinch up but Killzie keeps it at a distance.
Soto is looking to wear down Killzie with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Killzie avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Soto is looking to clinch but Killzie is avoiding it.
Soto shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Killzie defends it nicely.

and Killzie counters with a head kick. That will keep Soto thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Saikosis Killzie seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Soto tries to clinch up.
Soto tries for a takedown but Killzie sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Killzie stuffs the takedown.

No luck for Soto with that takedown attempt.
Soto shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Killzie as he jumps to the side.

Saikosis Killzie comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Killzie has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
