Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rich Clifton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Harry Joe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Harry Joe is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rich Clifton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Harry Joe! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Cecil Peabody and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Joe fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Clifton avoids it really well and circles away. Clifton throws a head kick that misses. Clifton displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
It looks like Harry Joe has been cut. Joe shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Joe looks gassed! Clifton fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Joe sprawls well initially but Clifton persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Clifton tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Joe. Clifton not landing any meaningful shots this time. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Clifton is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Joe tries to roll over but Clifton keeps him under control. Clifton wants to take a breather but Joe is having none of it. Clifton postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Joe to stand up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Clifton shoots and misses and Joe counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Clifton actively working from the bottom here. Joe thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Clifton's head. Clifton looks like he's trying to stand up.

Joe is working for a submission of some sort.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Clifton is looking for a sweep. Joe is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Clifton smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Joe is trying hard to land a takedown here. Clifton sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Rich Clifton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Harry Joe. Clifton fails to land with a series of punches.

Clifton lands with a nice combination. Joe backs away looking to recover. Joe decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Clifton is defending against the submission attempts here by Joe.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Joe wants to control but Clifton is keeping him busy. Joe is working for a kimura but Clifton is defending it quite comfortably.

Joe is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Clifton is just riding it out for now. Joe eventually gives up the hold. Clifton actively working from the bottom here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Joe doesn't succeed with the takedown and Clifton counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Some wild striking there from Clifton.
Clifton looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Joe is fending him off so far but Clifton persists. Nope, Joe circles away and we're back to standing. Joe tries for a takedown but Clifton circles away easily and Clifton counters with a stiff right hand. Joe shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Clifton counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Clifton throws a right and a left that both miss. Clifton tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Clifton throws a sloppy head kick and Joe moves out of range easily. Joe scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Harry Joe will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Harry Joe's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Joe tries for a takedown but Clifton circles away easily and Clifton counters with a nice double leg into side control. Joe won't be happy with that. Clifton lands a nice forearm strike. Joe is looking for a sweep. Clifton trying to control the position but Joe is working away. Joe is looking to get back to his feet here but Clifton is keeping cool and he's managed to take Joe's back. Joe is taking damage to the body and head. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Clifton scores with a nice shot to the head of his opponent. Joe is looking for a way out. Joe is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Clifton.

Joe is keeping busy.
Clifton lands with a nice looking elbow that stuns Joe.
Joe trying to control the action but Clifton just sinks the hooks in. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Clifton is looking to finish with some ground and pound! Watch the back of the head! Comes the shout from the referee towards Clifton.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Clifton is landing with strikes from the back. Clifton struggling to keep hold of the position.
Clifton gets his hooks in and is throwing strikes. Clifton lands a shot to the body. Joe is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Clifton lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK. Clifton working for a choke but Joe is defending well. A lull in the action here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Clifton is trying to control but Joe is trying to escape here - he's now mounted.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Clifton looking for a guillotine from mount but Joe is having none of it. Joe is desperately trying to improve his position but Clifton has a good base and remains in mount. Clifton tries to control but Joe wriggling away. Joe tries to lock up and control but Clifton gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Clifton has control of Joe's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Joe regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Clifton pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Clifton tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Joe is wriggling around trying to escape.
Clifton tries to control but Joe wriggling away. Joe is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Joe can't escape the position.

Rich Clifton dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Harry Joe's cut. That's time! Clifton's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Clifton scores with a takedown into Joe's guard. Clifton trying to stand up but can't free himself from Joe's guard. Clifton wants to control from the top but Joe keeps moving. Clifton drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Clifton jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Joe controls Clifton momentarily but Clifton frees himself. Clifton controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Joe escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Clifton gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Joe has a closed guard, preventing Clifton from standing up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Joe looking for a guillotine here but Clifton defends easily.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Joe misses with a takedown attempt - Clifton sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Clifton shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Joe as he jumps to the side. Clifton misses with a body kick. Clifton throws a sloppy head kick and Joe moves out of range easily. Clifton fails with an attempt to clinch.
Joe gets a takedown into half guard. Joe wants to lay and pray for a moment but Clifton keeps working.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Joe works his way into side control. Clifton manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Joe working over Clifton with some ground and pound. Clifton looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Joe tries to stand but his arm is trapped. Clifton wants to get back to his feet.
Joe is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Clifton still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Clifton has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work! Rich Clifton overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Clifton cracks Joe with a big elbow. Joe is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Clifton has hold of Joe's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Joe seems comfortable defending it but Clifton has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Joe is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Joe is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Clifton couldn't care less - he's delighted!
