The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kobayashi tries to clinch but Wilson is having none of it. Kobayashi looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Kobayashi tries to clinch there but Wilson circles away.

Kobayashi gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Wilson looks to score with a jab to the body but Kobayashi is just out of range. Wilson closes the distance and clinches. Wilson stalks Kobayashi and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Kobayashi's face. Kobayashi staggers backwards, shaken. Wilson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kobayashi tries to reverse the position but Wilson maintains control. Kobayashi wants to hold on but Wilson pushes him away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kobayashi tries to get back to half guard but can't. Wilson gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks! Kobayashi dodges the punch combination from Wilson.
Kobayashi wants to clinch but Wilson slips to the side and Wilson counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Kobayashi is rocked! Wilson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kobayashi moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Wilson has closed the distance and engaged Kobayashi in a clinch.

Wilson wants to clinch up but Kobayashi keeps it at a distance. Kobayashi tries for a takedown but Wilson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Wilson throws a series of strikes that have Kobayashi backpedaling.

It looks like Damon Wilson has been cut. Wilson manages to break the clinch.
Wilson feints and as Kobayashi raises his hands in defense, Wilson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Wilson looking to pass the guard. Kobayashi is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Kobayashi looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Wilson puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Wilson seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Wilson has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, Kobayashi works to full guard. Kobayashi looking to hit a scissor sweep but Wilson is one step ahead there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kobayashi tries to clinch but fails miserably and Wilson holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Wilson breaks the clinch.

Kobayashi is breathing heavily. Wilson advances to mount. Wilson unloading with bombs! Wilson trying to control but Kobayashi is having none of it.

Wilson working for a guillotine from mount but Kobayashi is in no mood to give up. Wilson pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Wilson landing punches. Wilson manages to capitalize on a mistake by Kobayashi to take his back! Wilson is persistently looking for the submission but Kobayashi is defending it well.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Kobayashi trying to control but not successfully. Kobayashi seems to have recovered his senses. Wilson is hanging on to Kobayashi's back as he tries to escape.

Wilson drives through with a takedown into guard. Wilson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kobayashi swivels though and keeps the full guard. Wilson wants to stand but Kobayashi is controlling his posture from full guard. Kobayashi looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Wilson passes into half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Kobayashi regains full guard. Nicely done. Wilson has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Wilson avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Kobayashi has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Wilson should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Kobayashi has tightened it up now! Wilson should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
