The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
MGee shoots in and drives through. Workman sprawls well.
MGee takes a swing at Workman's ribcage but misses.
MGee is looking to clinch but Workman is avoiding it.
Workman displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from MGee.
MGee tries to clinch up but Workman circles away and keeps his distance.
Workman dodges the punch combination from MGee.
MGee tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
MGee misses with a straight right.
Workman lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

It looks like Tits MGee has been cut.
Workman lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but MGee circles away quickly and effectively.
Workman scores with a body shot.
MGee is breathing heavily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
MGee fails with an attempt to clinch.
MGee tries to clinch up but Workman circles away and keeps his distance.

MGee tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Workman paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Workman cracks MGee with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! MGee looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Workman finish him?

MGee shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. MGee showed some decent athleticism there.
MGee trying to control from Workman's half guard. Workman has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
MGee wants to control from the top but Workman keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
MGee prevents Workman from getting back to his feet.
Workman wants to sweep here but MGee controlling him for the moment.
Workman wants to get back to his feet but MGee is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
MGee trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Workman manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!

Workman decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on MGee, up you get!

Workman pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Workman misses with a body shot.
MGee throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Workman's waist but Workman gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing MGee off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tits MGee. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and MGee counters with a nice double leg into side control. Workman won't be happy with that.
MGee in side control, just content to control the action for now.
MGee tries to get to his feet but Workman is in the middle of advancing position himself and ends up with MGee in his guard.

MGee wanted to stand there but Workman had control of the position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Workman can do anything to dispel that myth.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Workman misses with an uppercut.
MGee fails to land the takedown.
Vinson Workman seems to be getting the better of the standup.
MGee will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Workman swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
MGee tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Workman paws at him with a jab and circles away.
MGee is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Workman.
Workman works MGee's body with a nice hook.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Workman lands with a big right hook that stumbles MGee - he's out on his feet here! Workman follows up with another monster hook that separates MGee from consciousness! MGee falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Workman stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.
