Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Murilo Ferreira! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Golpacha Nosay! The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Seu Braga and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ferreira closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Nosay did well to prevent Ferreira getting side control. Nosay keeping control of the position. Nosay moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Nosay wants to sweep here but Ferreira controlling him for the moment. Nosay controls Ferreira momentarily but Ferreira frees himself. Nosay is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Nosay holds on and takes a little breather.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ferreira not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Ferreira postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Nosay is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Ferreira is breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Despite being in the dominant position, Golpacha Nosay just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Nosay tries for a takedown but Ferreira circles away easily and Ferreira counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Ferreira. Nosay managing to control the position. Nosay working a defensive guard but Ferreira passes into half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Nosay looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ferreira is one step ahead there. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Nosay pulls Ferreira in close to his closed guard and prevents Ferreira from doing any damage or advancing position. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Nosay is on top in guard.
Nosay works a leg free and moves into half guard. Nosay perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nosay trying to control the action but Ferreira is working from the bottom. Nosay takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Nosay wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ferreira keeps working.
Despite being in the dominant position, Golpacha Nosay just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Nosay shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Ferreira counters with a single leg into guard. Nosay didn't expect that. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Murilo Ferreira dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Nosay shoots in and bounces Ferreira off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Nosay trying to control but Ferreira is working from the bottom. Nosay controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Nosay pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Ferreira is keeping the position for now. Nosay controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Nosay works a leg free and moves into half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nosay passes to full mount! Nosay trying to control but Ferreira is having none of it. Nosay has isolated one of Ferreira's arms. Ferreira looking to fight him off but Nosay twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
