And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Luis Engracia and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Coghi doesn't manage to clinch there - Vito circles away.
Coghi misses with a series of wild punches.

Coghi shoots in for a takedown but Vito shows good takedown defense.
Vito scores with a takedown into Coghi's guard.

Vito tries to free his leg and advance position but Coghi is retaining full guard.

Coghi is looking for a triangle here but Vito uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Vito is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Coghi has escaped the position, nice work there.
Vito tries for a kimura but Coghi is defending well.
Coghi is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Vito uses his free foot to push down on Coghi's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Coghi.
Vito with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Vito is standing up, even though he is in mount.

Vito closes the distance and clinches.
Vito wants the takedown. Coghi is fighting it off but Vito persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Coghi's guard against the cage.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Coghi can't keep his opponent in guard - Vito advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Coghi throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Vito.

Vito jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Coghi manages to avoid the submission attempt.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

Sancho Vito dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

and Vito counters with a nice double leg into side control. Coghi won't be happy with that.
Coghi is looking to regain half guard here but Vito keeps moving and retains side control.

Vito is keen to just control but Coghi is a slippery customer.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Coghi has his foot on Vito's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Vito works his way back into a safe position though.
Coghi had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Vito is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Coghi Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Vito's back instead.
Coghi has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Vito has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Coghi keeps control of the position as Vito tries to break free.
Coghi is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Vito has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Coghi has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Vito taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Coghi doesn't care though - he's delighted!
