Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between cory ownens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Les Bryd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). ownens comes to the cage accompanied by possession. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
ownens throws a hook but Bryd blocks it.
ownens throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
ownens is looking to clinch but Bryd is avoiding it.

Bryd looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bryd thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Bryd stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows ownens to get to his feet.
ownens throws a nice looking combination but Bryd bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Bryd tries to clinch there but ownens circles away.

Bryd darts in and clinches ownens up against the cage.

Bryd has hold of one of ownens's legs. ownens is fighting the takedown attempt but Bryd gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Bryd has hold of ownens's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! ownens tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Bryd cranks the arm and ownens screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from ownens, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
