PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rogerio Cardoso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Scooby Doo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Doo comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Scooby Doo Theme Song kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Man, I cannot wait for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Doo drops his hands momentarily and Cardoso takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Cardoso tries to bum rush Doo with a series of wild strikes but Doo uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Doo is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Cardoso's half guard.
Doo tries to pass the half guard into mount. Cardoso knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Doo is thwarting Cardoso's attempts to control the position.
The fighters are battling for position here. Cardoso manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Doo stands up and waves to Cardoso to follow him.

Cardoso lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Doo backs up against the cage.

It looks like Scooby Doo has been cut.

Doo tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Cardoso smiles and moves away.
Cardoso scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
The fighters circle momentarily. Cardoso darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Doo needs to keep his hands up - Cardoso had a free shot at his head there.

Doo drives through and clinches with Cardoso against the cage.

Doo keeps control of Cardoso as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Cardoso's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Doo throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Doo takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Cardoso not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Cardoso has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Cardoso is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Cardoso throws a big right hand that misses.
Cardoso looking to sit in guard and control but Doo gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Rogerio Cardoso just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Doo.
Rogerio Cardoso has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Scooby Doo.

Doo shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Doo was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Cardoso wants to lay and pray for a moment but Doo keeps working.

Cardoso keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Cardoso connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
